Post Lowering question for 1LE

I replaced the factory springs with a set of Eibach Pro Kit springs today. Once I finished up, I took it around the block to feel the ride and let the suspension settle. After parking it I noticed that the front wheels are sticking out past the fender. It may have been that way before and I just never noticed. It is not a negative or positive camber issue as it is pretty uniform. It kind of has me worried in the event that I hit a large bump and the wheel hits the upper fender. Anyone else notice this on their car? It will be getting a four wheel alignment on Tuesday at my local Chevy dealership.

Hmmm...mine is sitting on Pfadt 1.25" and just looked, flush with fender like the rear (305s on mine). Dunno

Im dropped on Pfadts 1 - 1 1/4" drop springs and no real issues with rubbing and have full turn radius.

I think the turn radius is going to be fine, it just looks weird. The rear tires are flush. I just can't see how swapping out springs would push both of the wheels outward.

I went ahead and posted it over in the suspension section. I initially posted it over here since our cars have a wider front wheel than the standard SS.

When you swapped springs the upper slotted Strut bolt hole probably didn't get lined up in the exact position it was before.

Once you get it aligned with the correct negative camber,it won't look to be sticking out from the fender anymore.

It has nothing to do with your spring swap.

Even in the pictures it looks like the cambers are actually positive (when what you want them to be is slightly negative). Negative camber will pull the tops of the tires inward.


FWIW, if the strut fasteners had been put back exactly where they were originally, the lowered ride height would pull the cambers more negative, not less (and certainly not over into positive).

Adjust cambers using the adjustment method shown in one of the Pedders pages. It doesn't appear to be very difficult to do, and you could use a digital angle finder to measure your results if you're up to making a DIY attempt at this (seriously).

Keep in mind that as camber varies, toe usually does as well, and you really want to get that fixed. Bad toe is quite a lot harder on tires than a similar amount of camber error.

If you have not had the alignment and bushings timed since your spring install,I would have it done ASAP.
