APEX Motorsports will not be beat on price by one of the third party drop shippers. We are a CAI Inc distributor with systems on the shelf and ready to ship. If you get a lower quote from one of them just forward it to me and we will beat it!

Installed my CAI the other day and unhooked the battery for about two hours. I had not done that before when I installed my Vmax ported throttle body or the MRT V2 exhaust last year. I swear it feels like it has picked up 20 HP on the butt Dyno. Where before I had a hard time breaking the rear tires loose I can easily do it now with out hardly trying! The intake and ported throttle body make an awesome combo. I recommend getting them both. No matter what, disconnect that battery!

Ahhhh, So the washer fluid lid remains within the intake box without having to be relocated on the 2014 V6? If so, this box is looking better.

Correct, you do not have to touch the washer tank to install the CAI Inc intake alone. You only have to relocate it if you want to also install a scoop.

Hey Apex, I had one other question.....I was watching the install video on a Gen 5 V6 and one of the guys mentioned how the intake tube had an interior insulated walls. Can you or anyone that actually has one of these units shine any light on what type of insulation or insulated coating is used for this? The video didn't touch on the specifics. My concern was if there was any possibility of this said "insulation to break down and expel any of itself into the throttle body or manifold. Any input on this is much appreciated.

The inside of the tube is ceramic coats to prevent heat soak. There is not any sort of material attached that you need o be concerned about coming off. The air box does have thermal insulation inside but it is a one piece blanket and pre-filter.
