Absolutely zero other cars. Speed is super but the handling is, well, words just don't do it justice.

I am so glad that no trash bags were harmed on your way home!

"Confidence inspiring" describes it beautifully! The 2SS/RS I traded against our ZL1 used to "push" in the corners all the time on the street. No comparison to the ZL1!

Grand Sport Corvette, Z06, Viper.
But they aren't 4-seat, 4200 lb cars either.

The ZL1 is unmatched at what it does for what it is.

My Z06 has way more front and rear end grip. No comparison.

The sway bar bias (25mm front, 28mm rear) really helps the ZL1, even with staggered wheels and tires. The 1LE has better balance (no blower) and a semi square wheel and tire setup so even with 'stolen' ZL1 bits it grips better. In fact, the 1LE grips so well it was too neutral so it was released with a 27mm front bar to add back some understeer. You can address that by installing a 25mm ZL1 front bar or a larger rear bar. Then there is the Z/28 with 305/30/19s all round.

I wonder where they got that idea?

You guys really need to just ride in a Caterham 7 running on R-compound autocross tires. As good as the ZL1 is on its street tires, you still can't imagine the violence with which that little thing can corner.

Beyond that, driver experience counts for a lot. It doesn't feel as exciting once you've intentionally cornered that abruptly, as you would at autocross.

Ummm . . . I rather doubt that in anything other than initial nimbleness it'd match the very best that the ZL1 could do. Stock, it's a couple of steps off the ZL1. Moderately modified, probably still half a step back unless the turns are so sharp that the Camaro's extra 5" in the wheelbase starts getting in the way. That's if you can keep up with the steering, too.

But it is entirely possible that you could match what BAD ZL1 experienced - I've bounced passengers off the door panels and quarter windows in mine a couple of times avoiding truck tire debris at 65 mph or so.

In steady-state cornering, a bone-stock ZL1 should steadily pull away from me even though I have a few handling mods in place, and I'd be embarrassed for the ZL1's driver if he couldn't.

C5 Z06 vs ZL1 (both stock) it may matter.

C6 Z06? It's not relevant.

Why? Car weight.

2012 Lexus LFA super car. Of course it is $375K. Amazing handling as you might expect.

The ZL1 is peerless in my opinion for the cost / performance. I love it!

What McLaren? None of the current models cost 390k.

Porsche Challenge Cup race car. My instructor at VIR took me in his car. Technically doesn't qualify for "have you driven", but definitely the best handling car I've ever been in......in fact I tossed my lunch.
