2 weeks later...I left my car unstarted for a week....NO DEAD battery!....no lights either! Range should offer an option for a wired in switch on obd ext. Include a fuse tap with it....everyone will be happy!

Agreed. Awesome that its working. It's a once-and-done install and everything tucked in behind instrument panel fuse box panel? Shoot us a picture Suzook!

Exact issue twice. Waited 45 seconds the first time and it did not correct. Waited 2 minutes the second time and it went away. Is there a firmware update for Version 3? I haven't seen Ken or Adam on here for a bit.

I am still using the first version that I purchased in March for my 2012 SS/RS. Still working perfectly. Nearly 5 months and counting. No issues.

Version 1 here. Just passing the 4 month mark. Two incidents of Xmas lights. Last one about a month ago. I can live with it.
Love my Range V8.

I always pull out around the 22nd of each month so OnStar can have their way with my on-board computer and send me that glowing monthly report. I shove it back in when I'm through reading the report.

Doing right gets harder and harder.

Again this airbag light issue started the 2nd time I plugged the range in. Maybe it's coincidence that my airbag started having issues after I got the range and its not the range causing the issue??

So now my question is can I reset this light without having to take my car to the dealership? I disconnected the battery this morning to try and reset the computer....or at least that is my intentions.

I have a Dashboss scanner coming my way to try and reset the light to avoid me having to go to dealership to shell out money for them to do it. Also Ken is sending me another Range to try out as well. I will update soon as I get this stuff.

I will say Range has some really awesome customer service!!
Okay doing my followup.....the Dashboss scanner did not allow me to reset the airbag light so I finally broke down and took my car into the dealership this morning and let them check it. They said that the passenger airbag sensor has gone out and that it will cost me $688.84 to have it replaced and that cost me $111.75 just for them to tell me that. So my guess is that it was just coincidence that the light came on after I had the Range plugged in ?? Now I have to find me an airbag sensor and and research how to change this thing out myself.

Hey guys. I've had a v1 with light issue so installed a switch with power coming from the fuse block so the range is ALWAYS off when key is off and then the switch allows a choice of range on or range off. I still did the v3 swap as I figured what the heck. By the way the other nice thing about the switch.. It's awesome to be able to turn v8 on off on demand. Typically I leave it in afm mode for commuting and shut it off on weekends.

I had the lights on v1 and up until tonight v3 was fine with the switch and power on when key on.

Unfortunately tonight I just had the lights again and the ECM logged two errors a p0700 power train transmission control system mil request and a u0100 network error.

I had left the key in, switch on but engine off as the wife was listening to the radio so the same key on scenario everyone seems to have had.

Took a number of on off key out wait cycles to get everything sorted out and car drove poorly in mean time.

Like everyone else here I LOVE this RANGE and the customer support is AWESOME.

So... 2 requests. Adam and team keep working on the fix and getting this perfected....is awesome.

And everyone else, please keep buying so Adam and team have the ability and incentive to do so.

You will love this is you have an L99

No warranty....the bumper to bumper is to 36,000 miles and I have 51,000 miles. The 5yr 100,000 covers engine and transmission so the airbags wouldn't be covered. I have tried to look up recalls and I tried the warranty no luck. All I have found are the tsbs that alot of people are having issues with the same sensor going out but gm hasn't done any recalls. And I'm having a hard time trying to find the part number for the sensor online.

which sensor? there are several that are listed for passenger side.

front crash sensors, item 1

http://parts.nalleygmc.com/products/.../13502340.html

passenger seat sensor (unheated seat), item 6

http://parts.nalleygmc.com/products/.../20972507.html

floor sensors, I'm guessing rear crash sensors.
item 3

Update: installed two days ago, no problems unitl tonight.....just had a few alarms go on - power steering and ABS lights on start - range FAQ's say to remove device and wait to 3 min to clear the faults, then all is good again. That worked fine...BUT....If this is weekly occurrence, I'm not too enchanted.....a PM into Adam @ range about this....
