ported throttle body

installed a vmax ported throttle body today on my camaro, all i can say is WOW, i dont care too much for the horsepower gains, but my car sounds so much nicer, i didnt think it was possible to sound better than it already was. took all of 20 minutes to install and that included me dropping one of the screws going to the hardware store to get a new screw. im not sure whether to just finish the performance next with the high flow cats and a tune or to work on some visuals, such as a new head unit, 4 pack gauges, and lowering it

got the throttle body from apex, amazing customer service, really fast delivery

I don't remember any change in sound from installing mine, nor did I expect/get/notice any HP gain, but it sure made throttle response a lot smoother.

everyone knows what the LS looked like stock. with the steel wheels and all.. pretty much what ive done to it so far with the year i had it, is a K&N cold air intake, vmax throttle body, pacesetter catback exhaust, kenwood subwoofer, RX catch can, tinted the windows, smoked the taillights, put the SS wheels on it, lights in the footwell and lights inside the shifter and put in fog lights and black out the bowties on both the front and the back

I only ask that because as an airplane mechanic we have to find ANYTHING that is "lost," and it really sucks sometimes.... But we always find it of course! Don't want you guys being afraid to fly

I try to do the same on my car just in case, never know what a lost bolt could do rolling around in an engine bay.

It will fall out somewhere as you drive down the road. I run 4 plus miles on the streets. Over the course of years, I have picked up/collected on the road almost a complete socket set. Folks working on cars have dropped or forgotten, and they fall tp the road.

Got my Ported Throttle Body from APEX as well. Really wanted it painted from them, but they were not able to deliver in the 6 week time frame outlined. They offered me the normal LFX PTB and I took it as who knew how much longer it was going to take :(

But I agree! Apex VMax Ported Throttle Body is a nice upgrade and one that is noticed. Customer support was always quick to respond and I am happy with my purchase.

At this point the only thing left is a Super Charger... If I go that route than I will purchase Solo HF Cats. Until than I will enjoy my ride

i think im going to go the high flow cats route next, that or coilovers and adapters instead of spacers so the tires stick out more

Yes, not a ton but a significant gain for the price! here is the dyno sheet from some testing we did a while back.

Feel free to call, PM or email me anytime with questions.

Best regards,

Did anybody else find unplugging the TB's electrical connection to be a total mf'er? I may have been just babying it, but I get a little anxious putting force on plastic parts. Love my VMAX TB though!

It's something like $165, plus another $150 until you return the one that came on your car...as I recall.
