Iv'e said it before, don't underestimate it for a second. You could find yourself behind in a hurry. Most of us with SRT8's have a tune, CAI, and a 180 thermostat at the very least. Quick, cheap easy mods that turn out up to 50 hp increases. Good rubber with this combo will get pretty consistant high to mid 12's. Drag raidials will get you near 11's or broken halfshafts.

Stock for stock, equal drivers in a drag race, the Camaro should squeak out a win. The LX platform cars are known to have decent handling for large cars, but the 300 is said to be the softest of all of them. So I'd give the Camaro the edge there as well.

I to believe, with equal drivers, a Camaro should squeak out a win, stock for stock. But saying that means I think its a drivers race. |

I've become convinced it's a pretty even match in the hardware and that it's a driver race. However, I would still rather have a Camaro 'cause IMHO the Camaro hast it all over the 300 in styling!! Yeah baby!

I don't believe that is an SRT8, looks like a 300C srt design, which is just a reguklar 300C with SRT wheels and seats

As in my previous post, do not underestimate them, more than a few have hit high 12s stock, the quickest I know of is an 05 300C SRT-8 that hit 12.7@111 BONE STOCK.

Quite a few stock SRT8's have run 12.8's, Comfy autobahn cruiser that leaves quite a few sports cars for dead......

I believe the 300's have gained a little weight over the past two years as well. If remember right, Back in `08, I checked the dealer sites for weights and the 300 actually came in 40 pounds less than the Charger and the Magnum was even a little heavier than that. I also thought I remembered that when the Challenger was new that it was much heavier than the other three SRT8's.
That may not be the case now, hell, I might even be wrong. Cant find the same data sheets know but my sled weighs 4160lbs give or take a few beers. |
