I hear ya, the numbers haven't seemed to be a problem, getting the numbers to match at the track is what I keep hearing the issue is. I hope ya get it to track well then I won't be so hesitant to do a 416.

I made 680 through the auto at 16 psi, blower only on the 376. It was good for a 9.98 at 138 mph. Any more boost it would make more peak power but it was slower at the track because of belt slip.

I should have it up and running by the end of this month, just in time for the cooler weather.

And I would think you could use the same pulley set up on a 416 and make about 13psi and 700-715 rwhp.

And you would run 10.50's at the track. Good luck with that. At least you'll save money bc you'll only need a 6 pt bar!!

I have a 6pt bar and don't want to have to get 8pt, until I decide I don't want to drive the car a lot any more. So a 10.0-10.7 is what I want until I decide to stop driving the car and start trailering it. In cooler weather I should be 10.8-10.9 now. I ran 11.1 last week and it was 85* out and still have room to better the 60'.

So the bottom graph on page 1 is about right, it says 16-17psi for a 2.8 OD rear and I am sure you have a decent cam so that would drop it down to 15psi. You should be fine then, I would have thought you would have made alittle more than 700 but it is just a number it only matters what you do at the track.

Boost is a measure of restriction. I run mast black label heads. They have decent flow numbers,Lol. I think I have another 30 or so HP laying around on this setup with a proper tune. Track numbers tell the ultimate tale.

I don't know how relevant it is, but I will throw it out there, because I am bored.

I have not been able to find efficiency charts like that for the eforce, but it is a 2300 TVS rotor assembly so it cant be far off in numbers.

My LS402 makes 724 hp @ 12 lbs. Compression is 9.9 to 1. There is more in it but the tune is not super aggressive.

Hope that helps.

Yeah but you can't offer track numbers because your car weighs 700# less.

I agree. My track numbers are not relevant, but there was discussion about compression ratio and engine size. I am not a true track junkie, but will have some numbers in a few weeks as we rented the track for some tuning and to get some real numbers.

Those seem like nice numbers for only 12 psi.

They are what they are. I guess all dyno's are a bit different and everyone throws hp numbers around, but they really don't mean much except for judging improvements to a specific car. As was said, its the numbers at the track that really count.

The weight diffence by GM specs is only 550 lbs, and I don't know if those weights are for base cars or fully optioned ones. Still a huge difference though.

I'd take a 550lbs weight loss. If I could pick up another .5 I'd really be flying.

I'm curious to get the C7 on the scale.

GM lists it as 3300, which is about 100 more than a C6.

Add a little YSI and it should easily be a 10 second car.

I like my 454 2300 combo, its killer on the street and will give you the number your looking for.You have to build a package for your cubes being carefull to chose the right cr...We have a 402 that makes 835hp at 5200rpm then the tb shut so it will be really close to 900 rwhp when we work the bugs out. This is the car we ran 10.20s about 5-6 years ago and it had a 427......It doesn't really matter to me where its the most efficient, ive never turned a Maggie faster and lost power unless we had belt slip. We usually turn our max builds around 22,000....I have a combo that I think will get me over the 900rwhp mark and it is about stock cubes. I will use a 4.125 bore like a 427 so I can use big ls7 type heads and use a 3.5 inch stroke crank, that way I will have a great piston to pin package....I feel this would get the most power you can get out of the 2300....By the way my 454 2300 makes over 800rwhp on 93 through a 9 inch, you can do it with big cubes or small cubes you just need to understand what to do for your particular build. Good luck if I can help you out give me a call.

Thanks Thomas, have you tracked your car with the 454? Its gonna be awhile before I do anything just gathering info. I want an enclosed trailer first and I have about 10K left on our wedding/honeymoon left to pay on. Should have all that done by next summer, and the wife just graduated from school and has her RN degree and started work so I should have some of my money freeing up soon.
