Update: well I just pulled into my driveway from the opposite direction I normally do and it scraped on the drivers side, I am glad I put the door edge guard on the bottom because it saved any damage to the splitter itself. Since I was coming in and turning left into my drive way I was actually going faster than I would normally coming in from the other direction so I think the speed is what actually got me.
Thanks for making me aware of the hazards involved in turning left into a ramp-up entrance. Not only do you go faster to get across an oncoming traffic lane, but you enter from a larger angle. I thought about you and went around the block when approaching my local Auto Zone.

[QUOTE=ACS Composite;6066882]Added a few pictures of the splitter installed. Took us less than 10 minutes :-).

Hopefully we get a decent day so we can drive out for a few better pictures.

When you buy the lip does it come in a flat black color like the ones shown in the pic or do you HAVE to get it painted?

Installed the Aero Kit last week (T4 front splitter, Front Wheel deflectors, front wheels mud guard, side rockers, rear wheel mud guards, and rear lower fins).

Took me 7 "chill-mode' hours to make sure am getting it right - can do this in 3 hours next time.... and was not in any rush....

Joe took the time to answer everyone of my calls, even after hours to explain a few things.

The 45th now has a classy look and compliments are flowing.....

Way to go Joe!!!! Will post pix....

i was wondering if fellow ACS T5 owners can chime in on this oddity for me

i had my T5 put on a few weeks ago. and never noticed this until now, but over the weekend i was checking out the clearance distance for floor jack purpose and so i stepped back 20 feet or so and got down to the "ground" level and noticed the front tip of the T5 splitter, at ground level, is slightly higher than the two adjacent sides. here's a picture of me at ground level about 20 ft away and zoomed in.

as you can see, the center is higher than the two sides. i couldn't find any other pictures online other than Porkrind's previous picture from another post, which also has the same oddity.

can someone chime in if they also have this? i am just wondering if this is a production flaw, or it was designed this way. since every picture online only show 3/4 view, top view, or frontal center view, but not ground level, so it's hard for me to verify. hopefully fewllow T5 owners can chime in.

thanks

To think that you will notice that the lip is thicker on the sides than in the middle. Probably designed this way to give more ground clearance because if you are going to scrape on parking stops or curbs it would probably happen most often in the center than to the sides.
That is just my opinion.

interesting, i was thinking the same thing. could it be that the center is slightly higher so it has better chance to clear the curb and not rip the whole thing off.

but i am just curious if fellow T5 owners also noticed this and can chime in as well.

Yours looks like it actually has a bow in the middle. Mine does not look like that and the other pic you posted may have a little but yours is more pronounced.
I don't have any straight on pics of mine.

can you take one from the ground level 15~20 ft away? that'll really help explain things.

thanks... if you get a chance, could you take a quick one at 15~20 ft away ground level, it'll really help explain things if mine is faulty.

really appreciate it.

I went out in the rain and took one from about 6 or 7 ft away and it looks like mine is also like that, but it may be a combination of the lip being smaller and an optical illusion due to the shape of the front bumper. I would say it's supposed to be that way then.

Hi,

We do give a slight favor to increase clearance and save some scrapes.

I'll say depending on the angle and camera lens used the final effect will be very different. Also make sure the fascia is properly installed, they are very flexible and have seen customer not properly install the lower 10 mm bolts, the lower bolts will position the complete lower section of the fascia drastically changing the overall position of the splitter.

The only real way to properly verify this would be to remove the splitter and set it on a perfectly flat surface like a rigid table.

Hope this helps.

Thanks for chiming in. my T5 is the racing package version, so it came with all nuts and bolts instead of rivets. so there really isn't any other way to install it. i had a shop put it on for me and they took the facia off to do it.

i didn't notice it before, until i noticed it. now i see it all the time. in time, hope i'll forget.

here's another shot of it. more of the same angle as Angrybird's picture (by looking at the tire reveal).
