Issues at hand with Whipple + ROTO FAB.

1. Under hard acceleration the belt rubs on the back passenger side mesh.
2. Can't use any water tray. I tried both. The stock one that comes with it and also the ZL1 tray.
3. The middle bracket that is used to hold the stock water tray in rubs badly on the intake elbow.

Drip Tray from GM

I just installed the ZL1 drip tray, which I think everyone with the ACS insert should have. Figured I would poste some pics and the part number as it was a pain in the ass to find . On the positive side, the install on my 2012 SS was super easy.

P/N: 22828415 - Baffle (I have no clue why GM decided to call it a baffle )

Do you know if I can find this baffle for my 2011 v6? i bought this one and it doesn't fit. I mean the clips where it is supposed to attach, doesn't line up. I guess it fits 2012 and newer models.

There is not one for the earlier models, it is designed for the ZL1 so the provisions were not added until after they started producing ZL1s. Other than either just letting it sit on top of the radiator or creating your own mounting for it I don't think you can do much to make it fit. I haven't had one for 9 months and have had no ill effects, and we have has some torrential downpours and heavy snows.

Has anyone done this hood insert with a set of outer hood rally stripes? I'd be interested in seeing a picture of that to get an idea of how it would look. I like the look of this but I would miss my rally stripes and I definitely don't like the look of it installed over the top of the factory style rally stripes (to each their own of course)... just curious how it would look with the outer style stripes.

I guess you are talking about the transformer 3 bumblebee stripes.

Yes, I saw someone earlier in the thread mention they had the outer hood stripes, but never saw a pic of their Camaro post install, so don't know if they kept them or not. Not sure I would do it that way, might look too busy... but would like to see it to get an idea. Figure someone has to have done it.

I also would consider doing this and adding a matching rear deck and spoiler stripe down the center at roughly the same width of the insert... that might look nice. Something like Angrybirds, extended all the way across the truck and spoiler as well. Looked nice, the pinstripe definitely dressed it up.

ACS mule car has a set of those stripes (transformer 3 version). With T3 Hood ports also and TL1 insert in yellow.

The other one is my car and I kept the original stripes cause I want my car to be different.

I like this one better than the one with the vents. But, that's just me though.

It's the same deflector as comes on the real ZL1 Camaro. I am sure you have to glue it to the underside of the hood.
Here is a picture.

First time post here, found it wandering around Google.I've got an 07 CTS 3.6 Sport/Lux, and an 06 STS-V, and I'm loving the look of this. I'm wondering if I could get some figures from one of you fine folks...? I doubt it would fit the CTS - unless there's some flex to the insert, there's too much of an angle at the centerline of the hood - but I'm curious for possibly adding to the V. How much underhood room (depth) is required - what's the depth of the insert installed? Would anyone be so kind as to post overall dimensions? L x W, perhaps?

Could you post a picture of your hood? Maybe put a yardstick or some way to judge the measurements of your hood.
One factor you may also have a problem with is the under hood bracing. Where it is located in relationship to the mounting points of the insert. The curvature of the hood could also be a factor. They will flex some but not a lot.

I am seriously considering doing this mod to my 1LE, but I was thinking of having it painted to match my brm, with a carbon fiber overlay on the hood instead of the factory black matte.. thoughts??? pricing???
