Manual shift knob removal

Anyone know how to remove the shift knob, six speed manual trans? Anyone know the thread size of the trans shift stalk ??

People keep saying all you have to do is pull up really hard to remove the shift knob. Something about the knob being press fitted. I haven't tried it myself since I haven't found any 8-ball type knobs for the 2010 Camaro that fit the stock shifter.

Our solstice; can't change it out. The Jeep though- just pull up really, and I mean really hard. It wouldn't surprise me if the camaro's the same way. I'll try it out this week.
