New car issues

My new car, less than 2 weeks old is in the shop for the second time. 3 days after I got it the CEL started flashing with no codes stored. They replaced the ECM hoping that was the fix. Well it didn't fix it. 2 nights ago it started flashing again. Now they said be prepared for them to have it for a couple days. I'm so pissed that it's only 2 weeks old and it's having issues. Just want to vent. Thanks for listening.

These things happen sometimes. Be patient. They'll find the problem and fix it.

flashing CEL means a misfire. seems odd they would replace the ECU right off the bat.

So the service tech drove the car today and the light started flashing. says that it's a misfire.. They are now trying to get a engineer to come look at it to figure the root cause and try to fix it. Do y'all think I should be asking GM for a new vehicle since it's started 3 days after I bought the thing. And it's 2 weeks old today.

Let them fix the car. If they can't, press for a new vehicle. Law says they need to be allowed 3 repair attempts before you can file a lemon case.

Update to my problems. Spoke with the service shop today about the misfires I've been having. The service shop said that engineers are writing a new program for the 2013 lfx models that is supposed to fix the problem. I am getting a p300 code CEL randomly flashing. They say it is going to take 2-4 weeks before it is ready to flash to my car. So, looks like I will be out of my new ride for a month. I'm bummed. Hopefully It fixes it. I have owned the car just a little over 2 weeks and only been able to drive it 4 days.

Time in the shop or waiting on the fix counts as time out of service. You may want to brush up on the Lemon Law in your state.

If they supply a loaner it doesn't count. Unfortunately.

Not true. If you loose service of the car you bought and are paying for it counts. Trust me. I have used lemon law and won. GM repurchased my camaro.

Camaroguy, it does count, at least here in Minnesota. My car was in my garage in storage waiting on parts for 31 days. Dealer then called to say they were in and to bring the car in. I told him it is late December in Minnesota, I have tires rated to 40 above and you want me to drive it to you when it is zero out. I asked if they would assume liability when I crashed. They said good point and wait till it got warmer.
