So for the A6 people

Just found out that if you are in manual mode but hold the right paddle towards you the tranny goes back to S (auto) mode. Did everyone else know this?

If you hold down either paddle it goes back into S mode.

Yep, M mode is the only way that drive. I tapshift 99% of the time, then use the right tapshifter to put it back in sport mode when im on the highway.

I did not know that. Looks like I'll have to try it in March or April. A cold front is upon us here in North Texas. Time to get a refill on depression meds.

I had to explain this twice in two week to new Camaro owners I tuned.

They also thought the M mode was only for using paddle shifters. They didn't know it would shift on its own in M mode.

After calibration, most owners use the paddle shifters less because the transmission is more responsive after calibration.

Hell after having my car for 18 months I just started using Manual Mode and DAMN it's like a completely different car. It feels like the car is way more responsive and it even sounds different to me at least. I HAVE to drive it in Manual Mode now.

Not for me. Mine only switches back to "S" mode if I use the right paddle (up shift). You sure yours does this on both paddles?

I think I'd read before that the early 2010's wouldn't do it.

Early 2010's didn't do it, my 2010 I had did and it was built in December of 2009. I think the change happened around the time they made back up sensors an option.

This feature has been posted many times in other threads about automatics. Also starting in 2012 you could hit the paddle and shift the transmission even while in drive, but is is just temporary and will go back into drive on its own after a delay.

FWIW, my 2011 would do it too.

I don't hang out in other sections of the board. So I would not have known. I'm sure many ZL1 members have this section bookmarked, cruise, and get out. But I get your point.

I like browsing all areas because some topics apply across all models. Sometimes I learn things I wouldn't otherwise know. And who knows what might be in my future if I decide to trade.

I've known about the manual mode for a while, Its a completely different sounding vehicle then. Especially with the exhaust fuse pull. Is there any other tricks I dont know about. I honestly dont know how to go through modes such as tour 1, tour 2, sport 1, sport 2, and race.
