new 1LE owner and...

The NPP flaps don't close... What gives? Are they not supposed to stay closed at idle? Also, between 1-2,000 RPM, huge amount of rattle from what sounds like the exhaust. Maybe a heat shield? Car had 10 miles on it when I picked it up today from the dealership, has 66 now...

Anyway. Other than that, the car is amazing.

That is one bad ass camaro my men.
The flaps will be open at idle, close after like 1500 RPM's and open again under load after like 3500 RPM's or so.
The rattle is not normal definitely take it to the dealer to get it looked at.

Thank you all for the kind words. I will definitely be contacting the dealership tomorrow morning. Wont have time to take it in for another two weeks though... ugh. lol. it's very loud. I didn't even notice it until I got home and rolled down the windows, it's quiet in the car, but very very loud outside. Almost embarrassing...

I thought the flaps stayed open until warm up, then closed, and only opened when you got on it hard after about 3500rpm... I could have sworn the '13 they had on the lot was closed when idling when I went to test drive it.. Because I had my girlfriend rev it and they opened and closed again?

I should mention also, it's a very metallic rattle. Sounds ALMOST like a bad catalytic converter, but definitely more metallic.

the metallic rattle may be the flaps closing? When the flaps open/close they are noisey and have a very metallic sound.

to my knowlege, dont quote me, but the flaps are open during idle, they close between 2000-3000rpm unless under heavy load and reopen above 3000+rpm

NPP? If it rattles take it back, but if you shake rattle and roll, well what can I say? More power to the Beast!

Nice ride! The flaps ARE open at idle and will close at cruising speed. Get on the throttle and they open up again. Get the rattle checked out though. I'm originally from Greensburg. Graduated from Hempfield. Living in Jeanette, I hope you have a garage for that beast. You'd be upset if you came outside in the morning to your car being up on blocks.

It's from the midsection of the car. It's definitely a metallic rattle, def not the exhaust flaps. Lol. It sounds maybe like a heat shield.

It's a vibration. Not a clicking or popping for the flaps. :(

I was thinking it may be the flaps actuating as well, pull the fuse and see if its still there. If it is, take it to the dealer and if not you found the cause and leave the fuse out

Nice Car!!! I just got mine a week before you.. I love the car!!! I am sure you will too. As far as exhaust, mine makes a tick/crackle sound after I park the car and turn it off. But that is only from the heat.

I bet you like me wish it was May or June!!!

Good looking car.

With that black paint and those wide sticky front tires, may I recommend front wheel well rock guards and clear bra down the sides to avoid rock chips in your paint.

1. Your car looks amazing, congratulations!
2. If it's that new and you are already having issues, I would definitely take it to the dealer and explain the situation. I'm sure they will get you taken care of. That's an odd issue so early, but things happen
