No a few ppl have done it. As long as you don't have a 4" driveshaft there is room for it.

And 700hp on stock axles is a recipe for disaster anyways if you ask me.

I have to figure out a solution. Camaro's at stock ride height look absolutely horrible!!! My car will be 99.99% street driven but will see some longer runs to lake country through some twisty roads and about 4-5 hrs of driving. I'm planning on making around 750rwhp. With 99.9% street driven you'll probably be just fine. I lowered my car by 1" about 3 yrs ago, then about 2 yrs ago I went to 1.5" lower. About 5 Auto-X events, 1 Road Course day, maybe 40 - 50 runs at the drag strip, and the rest of my almost 4 yrs with the car being street driven I haven't had an issue yet. Not to say it couldn't happen. However, I'm willing to take the risk. The stock wheel well gap on these cars looks stupid IMO. Especially once you see one lowered.

For the axle problems, if it's excessive CV angles you could look at what the offroad people do. You can clearance the cages and center star of the CV to allow for more CV angle. Most of the offroad cars use either 930 or for higher HP applications 935 CV's. The 930 CV's I ran on my sand car could tolerate a 28 deg included angle but I did tear them down once a year for maintance and inspection. chrome moly cages and polished stars will also help them last longer. For long travel sand cars they are considered a wear item and we always carried spares just in case.
