LOL WHAT!!

He may have also been talking about u saying the oil pump doesn't control pressure, then you said the springs control pressure. Your contradiction makes no sense.

Take pics when u can. Just make sure the tube sits flush and that O-ing isn't pinched.

Thy putting in that plug or a oil pan without a pressure relief valve on a stock L99 engine with a factory L99 oil pump and you will have over 100psi of oil pressure! I have removed and plugged the pressure relief valve from the oil pan numerous times before after changing the oil pump bypass spring to a lighter spring in the stock pump or after changing the oil pump. When you remove and plug the pressure relief valve in the oil pan the oil pump bypass spring control's the oil pressure. And yes I took the pic's.

It's a fail safe. The pump spring controls the pressure and the relief valve make sure the spring is doing it's job. You said the pump spring doesn't control the pressure and it clearly does.

***UPDATE***Well I got the oil intake tube mated up and bolted no probs. i had the oil pan bolts loosened 3/4" but was only able to get the pan down 1/2" and had to put a wood block at one corner to hold it down, but it was enough. put the rag in then worked the bolt in with my two index fingers, then used that flex box end ratchet (?) wrench that Robertway used to tighten up. No probs with the timing chain. then onto springs. used comp cams 2 spring compressor, worked good to remove. when installing the first valve seal, I hammered it in...not liking it...and yes i ****ed it up. researched on the web then basically pryed them on with a variety of pry objects. the bar shown, box end wrench, big screw driver. worked good. what is a PITA is using the 2 valve compressor to install at the #7, #8 cylinders. i cant see the very back spring lock area because the compressor is in the way. am shut down now. what I am gong to do is make a plate similar to what Robertway used and only do one spring at a time. what realy sucks about the 2 spring compressor is trying to align 2 sets of locks at the same time, since you have to move the compressor around a little to get the locks situated. hopefully i will finish all tomorrow. i told Chad Barton i woud have it done by this past thursday...lol

The 12mm (12 point) deep well socket worked well. The main thing is to use something to allow you to press them into place instead of hammering them in.

Hey what's up with the intake and exhaust lave tips on cylinder #1 pics 4-5

Did you use some loctite on the cam retainer plate, cam bolts, dampner and oil pump?

Yes you press down the seals and not hammer them in.
Your doing good!!

I do use it.

Yea I'm not liking how those valve tips look. Maybe it's just the angle or flash, I hope. Keep me posted.
