To access the code do we need an OBD 2 device or what? What language is the code in?

Buy the car that you would most like to get beat in. The other guy will always be faster.

You need an OBD II device, plus an interface tool that can write to the CANbus (the GMLAN doesn't have any security protocols, so you don't need a password to get write permissions).

The code is written in C++ but all of the data is done in HEX.

does the my link allow you too hear phone notifications when connected to bluetooth and not streaming music. someone else in my family has a 2013 equinox with the my link and when they get anything that is not a phone call when connected to my link in the equinox and not playing music through bluetooth it doesn't play the notification noise through the phone or the car and the phone only vibrates

Same with my equinox. I think it's a safety feature to keep your eyes on the road

Yes. I've posted pictures of the Messages screen/app in the MyLink Information for Developers thread.

Ehh not quite Nearly module on the bus is secured. You can't just go willy nilly throwing data at it you need to figure out the security algo and then a boot loader for it and in the radios case there are multiple boot loaders and access methods depending on which parts you want to change. This isn't even getting into the actual unit OS that is only writeable by USB (can you imagine loading GIGS of data for an update over 33K SWCAN?!)

Believe me if things were that simple my company wouldn't exist LOL

Oh I'm sure it's complicated - like I said. Getting to the code is where I got stuck.

Well if you ever need help coding or anything let me know. I love this kind of stuff, but just have never been able to figure out how to get into and inject packets to the CANbus.

There is a company on YouTube that's installing my link in 2010 - 2012. With no issues.

It's non-Nav MyLinks, and they have no proof besides the one YouTube video. Though they'll send you a kit if you send them $1,000 via Western Union.

I am still going to wait for Ofer to get his kit done so it will be a simple plug and play. I have the MyLink in my 2014 Malibu and I love it I cannot wait to get in the Camaro.

don't know if this has been asked, for the 2010's with the HUD install, will we have the data from the radio i.e. track, station and turn by turn still available? I know from what I heard with the other two kits you lost that on the HUD.

Because Ofer's kit is plug and play you don't lose anything.

From all the advice and feedback I've gotten regarding the 2014 camaro wiring, I understand they removed 2 wires in the connector. I would guess that's because in 2013 they started with Mylink. I've been trying to find a pdim that would work in a 2014 with the base radio which I believe is the same as a 2013. I know the usb port ( usr) option and pdim(ktb) option are standard on 1lt and up models so they're out there. Would anyone know where to get one for that year or what the part #'s would be? Any info would be great. Thx.

I can't wait for this system to be available. Especially with Nav. Hopefully it will be able to get for everyone soon.

My biggest fear now is that this thread has been going on since early this year and there's so much interest now, that Ofer won't have enough of them to satisfy the demand !!

I'm sure once everything is figured out, if demand exists Ofer will get you what you need. With the process to get the plug-and-play ready figured out it becomes much faster to roll out the product.
