Thank you Robert, you have quite the monster as well! I am a big time lurker and do not post a lot due to a brain injury, but have read through your journal. I plan on having it in Houston, God willing, but like you am going to try to due it with the stock ECU first How is the Pro EFI working out for you?

Thanks again
Curt

Curt, first let me apologize for not seeing this earlier...

ProEFI, all I can say is wow... Granted there were some hurdles to get it workin but WOW...

The biggest hurdle was the traction control... It appears that the software for traction control was written based on the 12' - 13' model year ECM / BCM

It wasn't reading the front wheel speed sensors. Chris Delgado of D3 Engineering in Houston made a couple of trips to our shop, and worked the problem. We were told repeatedly it was a wiring issue... Chris is big with ProEFI... He checked everything and said it was proper... After numerous attempts to solve the issue, he pulled the base file down and sent it to Jason in Arizona, the owner of the company and software writer.

It only took a little while for Jason the realize the discrepancy and write a patch to install... Holymolybbqsammiches... I can't wait for the new motor and the next mile...

I set a half mile record with no traction control and street tires... At 183.7 mph, then popped the motor at the 3/4 mile mark at 217 or thereabouts...

With everything working, the new motor and road racing slicks, the next mile run should be interesting to say the least...

And in the spirit of this thread, I'll release the components of my new build after it's in the car tested and proven... I've no doubt we will destroy the current standing mile record for 5th Gens... And most any other car as well...

Am I crazy, but if the LS3 is supporting 650 to 700 reliably... Imagine what there forged stuff can do! The lsx pistons that are forged are wiseco's there pretty darn good.. How do we not know the crank is not callies or there rods aren't oliver or callies with a GM name.. they make forged rods and cranks out of 4340... and a lot lower priced..

when the GT500 came out with the blower ford guys boasted the had all manely forged internals..

I think its worth some research..

I spend hours and hours tracking down where the hottest rc parts are made in china so i can get those companies to make things for me vs. having a company copy them, so I bet its no different gm probably went to a good company like callies to have there forged internals made.. so if it has a gm number versus a callies name Im ok with that there price is justified for Gm's large order..

We need someone that works at gm, where the LSXs are assembled to see what comes in the mail from where... lol

Tuned by Dave Steck (DSX Tuning) MAF, not speed density.
Alky control trunk mount kit with dual M10 nozzles. MAF referenced.
Engine and rear built by a guy no one on here has ever heard of and installed by me in my garage.

The ironic part of this was I wanted to make 1000rwhp. I sent the car off for the AGP twin turbo kit and I didn't know what it made power wise. Joe@CPR and I had spoken, emailed, and messaged and he knew what I wanted. Joe@CPR is doing the install and it made the listed numbers during their baseline pulls. He called me to tell me how shocked everyone was and how the car won him a beer. The dyno place just pulled a turbo supra off that made 1002rwhp and the guy told Joe if the camaro outdid it, he would buy Joe a beer.

Awesome numbers dude!!!!!

Build INFO

Well this combo is a daily driver that pushes over a 1000 RWHP

Short Block:

LSA block bored with just with 4.005 bore
Forged Rods with WISECO pistons
ARP head studs and ARP hardware on bottom end
Custom ported LS3 Heads
STOCK crank

Comments: Two items listed above are being pushed to the MAX at this level. ONE, the crankshaft, Any more power and I would use DRAGON SLAYER crank. TWO, six bolt heads are REQUIRED with more power as I am currently running 23 PSI on a Procharger F1R with 11:1 compression. The LSA block was used with this small bore because it is the strongest GM production ALUMINUM block made. If MORE power is required, I would use a ERL block or an LSX block. PORTED LSA heads would be better here IF you were to stay with a 4 bolt head because the alloy is stronger and deck is thicker. I any event, anything near 25 PSI is going to require 6 bolt heads for longevity purposes. If you are also running nitrous then probably anything over 20 PSI is going to require 6 bolt heads.

Supercharger:

Procharger Stock F1R, makes over 1000 RWHP with this set up using 4 inch pulley. Made about 880 RWHP with same setup using a F1A. Next step up would be F1X which would make 1350-1400 RWHP BUT you would need ERL or LSX block with Dragonslayer crank and 6 bolt heads.

Fuel:

E85 with Meth Injection. FORE Innovations TRIPLE pump set up with BOSCH 127CC injectors with Holley fuel rails.

Notes: A triple pump set up is required at this level because you have to push 35% more fuel to the engine because it uses E85.

Exhaust:

TSP set up with Magnaflow mufflers, The ONE thing I probably would change is to go with a header that had 2 inch primaries, This set up has 1 7/8" primaries

Tuning:

Sam Miller at Advanced Modern Performance. The importance of the good tuner can not be overstated considering the complexity of this set up.

Great build going on here...

Your comment about different heads for higher boost and or nitrous, Amen.

I ran 18 lbs on the stock LS3 casting and was pushing water and head gaskets. With LSA heads, I ran as much as 24 lbs of boost and never had an issue until we sprayed it. Then the head gaskets let go.

I've since gone to a full custom built engine with 6 bolt heads and lots of other goodies.

"The importance of the good tuner can not be overstated considering the complexity of this set up"

Truer words are seldom ever stated.....
