Man, that colored HUD looks super cool. If Ofer can make that happen and it looks close to that with a non-HUD windshield I may just have to break down and go through the tedious hours of doing the install.

I'm not sure if I'd go through the effort to put in the color HUD or not. But the Color DIC looks so much better than the monochrome one. I've always disliked the monochrome displays on both the radio and DIC - they look like LCD technology from the 80's.

I know, I've been putting off this mod for about 2 years now. Then I heard that the 2014's were getting color HUD's, so I figured I'd better put it off for a few more months until somebody figures out if the 2014 HUD is compatible with the 2010-13 cars or not. Otherwise I might end up cursing my luck too.

Yeah I just ordered my HUD from Ofer,i inquired about the color unit with him,but at this time he has to get one and try it out, plus he said the color unit would probably be around $1,400,.....so I opted for the single color,

The unit cost for the 2014 color is a lot more then the non color HUD, as soon as the MY link is done i will start to do the color up grade.

Well I ordered the non-color HUD from Gen5,The other day for like $485 for the kit, when I inquired about the color version he told me it would probably be around $1,450 and that he is waiting to get his hands on one to test and see if it will work in the earlier model's,

Wow $800 for a Color DIC cluster. That's pricey. But knowing you, you'll find a deal somewhere !

I just got done reading this thread. My daughter has a 2011 with HUD and I have a 2010 Transformer Edition that NEEDS it! I am not afraid of smaller projects, but this seems a bit big/intimidating. Does anyone know of anyone in the Virginia Beach, VA area that would be able to do this? I would love to help with the project, but would prefer someone who has done it before and could take the lead on it for me...obviously I'm willing to pay for it!

Update to the HUD, we tested out the old HUD in my car today, you ask what did we do? we added the G meter to it so it now has 4 pages, next is to make the color one work on older cars.
