Program a throttle body?

So I bought a vmax throttle body from apex, and my brother-in-law is going to install it for me this weekend. He was wondering if it has to be programmed, or if it's just plug and play?

Simple plug and play.. no "programming" needed. Its such an easy install you could probably tackle it yourself.

Agree^^^.

Took me about 10 mins to do mine. If i remember correctly, think the only pita was unpluging the stock tb but with patience and a swig of a nice cold beer you'll get it done. Besides u can follow the instructions from apex website or vmax as they are very detailed.

Thank you for your order. It is straight plug and play. No tuning or anything is needed.

Basically, could not get my car back to normal after messing with the TB, even with a fuse pull. Tuning was required to maintain driveability. Maybe this is an isolated occurrence and maybe VMAX is designed differently, but just my .02!
Two different TB's. The Vmax is a stock 92mm TB with the inlet ported and swirled. the BBK is a 95mm TB and known to have issues.

that seems to be a common theme for BBK customers...but Vmax is pretty solid plug and play

No tuning is needed. Checking your MAF sensor is a good idea though. The "weak" ones don't seem to like the ported throttle bodies.

"Weak" vs "Strong" Camaro SS MAF Sensors
