This should not be necessary. It should be common sense.

A transit bus weighs 30,000 pounds, hybrids weigh even more. If you act stupid around one you will lose.

Just let the damn bus back in and pass when you get a chance.

A couple laws people may not be aware of in most states.
Lights should be turned on any time it's raining enough to use your wipers ( our cars do this automatically when the wipers are on)

Also you should either slow down or move over on a multi lane road when approaching a emergency vehicle, or tow truck assisting a motorist in the emergency lane. ( it's also good to do this when you see any car or truck parked on the side of the road ).

One thing that always gets me is people that will fly by you and then cut in front of you and abruptly slow down to make a right hand turn when there is absolutely nobody behind you...

Protip for parking these Camaro beasts:

If you're pulling forward into a space and don't want to scrape the front air dam, you should be able to visually line up the bottom of the driver's door mirror with the curb cement parking stop. Once they line up, it's time to stop. You should be far enough forward in the space, but not so far that your air deflector or front bumper are in contact with, or hanging over it.

If you're backing into a spot and don't want to hit a wall or smoosh your exhaust tips, point your right side door mirror down, and the right rear wheel should come into view. You can judge distance from there, knowing the end of the car is somewhere about 24" beyond that.

Definitely do your own research first. Some of you might have your seats positioned crazy, or are sitting on phone books, which might alter results.

Also, lining up the center of the hood with the right edge of a road or curb generally means you're within 6 inches of it...another protip for parking or pulling up broadside to a curb.

1. While driving in snow, ice, or freezing rain - keep all of your driver inputs (throttle, braking, and turning) as smooth as you can. Slow and smooth. Slow and smooth.

2. Blinkers are there to be used. Please use them.

3. NO TEXTING. If you kill one of my children because you were texting someone, I will find you and go Medieval on you. You will wish the cops got you first.

4. Know your limits. If you are not a great driver or have slow reflexes, SLOW DOWN!

5. Growing up in NYC, I've seen many red light accidents. Two points:
If you are the first car at an intersection, after the light turns green count to 2 and look both ways before accelerating. Who cares if you aren't the first one off the line? No one wants to get T-boned by some idiot who is trying to make a light. 95% of the people I see just jut out into the intersection without looking.

Do not take off from the light if your sight is blocked in either direction. I've seen pedestrians killed because some idiot couldn't see around a Van/truck/bus in the middle lane and took off like a bat out of hell through the intersection.

6. As taught in racing schools, always scan the road far ahead of your car. Do not just look 20 feet in front of your car. If you scan far ahead, you learn to rely on your peripheral vision to guide your steering around bends and to keep you on the road.

7. Side view mirrors need to be set up correctly. A good rule of thumb is to lean your head about a foot or two in the direction of the mirror you are adjusting. You should then adjust your mirror like you normally (and incorrectly) would (where you can see the outside line of your car). While in the proper seating position, you should not be able to see the side of your car in your side view mirrors.

8. When stopping behind another car at the intersection or in traffic, always allow enough room so that you can get out of the spot in one move without having to back up. Many a carjacking is made possible by people who leave no room to get out of there. It is also is a good idea to leave an escape route in case of another emergency.

Remember, a solid yellow line on your side of the road means no passing, even if it looks safe to you there is a safety reason that area is a no passing zone.

Get your brakes checked periodically and don't put it off when you notice decreased performance or any unusual sounds when you brake. I've personally avoided quite a few crashes because my brakes performed well.

Never drive drowsy. Being late is always better than being hurt...or worse.
