Suspension wayyy stiffer! Coming from 2012 2LS to a 2014 2LS. What changed?

I saw nothing in official literature, about suspension upgrades, but my 2014 2LS has way stiffer suspension than my old 2012. Usually this is a good thing, right. Except 2LS's are budget Camaros and I seriously doubt someone at the factory threw in a z28 pacakge by accident. Trying to figure out if this stiffness if design or just QC issue.

Major example is an underpass I go under every day after work. On my 2012 I would have to slow down to about 15-20MPH or the softer suspension would cause the car to bounce off the pavement (really hard angles on the underpass, almost ditch like). The front fascia would scrape too on anything over 20MPH. With the 2014 car I can do 35MPH easy through same route and no bouncing or scraping.

What changed on the suspension? I can't find anything in the official literature, reviews, or similar. Asked the dealer and was told the 2014s are "rougher" whatever the crap that meant.

I know that the 2012 LS's had the heritage steel rims 18" whereas the 2014 LS's have the 18" silver painted rims.

Outside of the COPO, no 5th Gen has ever come with wheels smaller than 18".
