Had shuttering between 20-55 mph when it was looking to shift gears around 1100-1400 rpm.

Could reproduce everytime I got the rpm's down and went on the throttle slightly forcing it to think about shifting and then would shutter and only shift if I added more gas.

Torque converter was replaced and shifting pattern was reprogrammed (I was told they changed it for this problem and there is a TSB).

I found the TSB issued here on Camaro5 and brought it in just incase they tried to give me a hard time - the technician agreed the TSB was applicable quickly.

2012 Camaro RS and had ~7800 miles on it.

Haven't had a problem since and that was around 1.5 - 2 months ago.

I am having a third Torque converter put in the car tomorrow. There was a bulletin for the dash board issue and for the gas tank issue. No bulletin for the heater fan.

I am still wondering if these torque converter issues are with all 2012 V6 Camaros or only on ones built after a certain date. I have almost 14,000 miles on mine now in 13 months and I run mine fairly hard, so far I haven't had any problem. Mine was built in late 2011.

Posted a few times before on this thread. Mine is a 2011 2LT A6. Low gear shift lag (no noise issue). Built 1st week of Aug. 2010 & received 2nd week of Aug. 2010. TCM (transmission control monitor) replaced 1st year. Lag has become a little more noticeable this last year. Now at only 5,400 miles, 3-year bumper to bumper expires early this Aug., have a service appointment Thursday to check out a few other things (clunk/pop) in front.

So this time in will have them recheck the TCM plus the torque converter & get it on record still having an issue with low gear shift lag on the A6 (v6). I have an excellent dealership, but like many dealerships sometimes it takes a few visits as I do not accept "Normal" or "Nothing found". Been driving for 45 years (and buying new autos) & all but one of my autos were auto trans. Never had an auto that shifts this poorly in low gears.

Good I have another auto so I can leave the Camaro at dealership for weeks if required. Other car is a 1998 supercharged Riviera (67,000 miles) and its auto trans shifts smooth as butter, moves out fast and no gear shift lag. I have to question why a 15 year old Buick Riviera automatic transmission with 67,000 miles shifts 'much' smoother than a 3 year old Camaro with automatic transmission at only 5,400 miles? 1998 Riviera is a larger 2 door coupe, less gears, but 87 pounds lighter than the 2011 2LT Camaro. 1998 Riv is only 240 hp but supercharged so it flys while the 2011 is 312 hp & flys but low gear lag is noticeable.

Auto transmission tested again (July 25). Result: test drove with scan tool. no codes and did not feel any adnormal shifts.

At least I have it on record previous TCM replacement did not fully resolve the low gear shift lag.

Picked up the car wed night after the second torque converter replacement. Car seems to have more pickup. 17 K miles. We will see. When we had the first one replaced it ran well for a few weeks and then came back. The car still continue to shift fine. Also the dash part was replaced and that is ok but not a perfect match.

The dealer is trying and that is good but the product isn't good.

I am pretty sure we will never buy another GM product again.

Ok I am having shifting problems. I drive a 2012 ls m6. And once in awhile my car will not let me get into 1dt gear to start moving. Is there a big problem with these trans that would cuz this. I am the second owner and the car has 29k on it. The shifting problem as been here since I got it. Do you guys think the dealership will fix it or will I have to cough up the $$$?

This thread is about the automatic transmissions. If your car has only 29,000 miles on it it should still be under the Factory 100,000 mile warranty. Unless it's from abuse or it's a worn clutch it should be covered.

I hope they can soon.
What is the bulletin number? Or where can I find it? I'm also having this problem.

Here ya go (see jpeg attachment). In fact, I'm trying to find out if the new model TC actually fixes the issue, or just kicks the can a little further down the road - only to resurface later. Mine is at the shop now, waiting... so far, no estimated repair date set.

TQ Conv. replacement seems to have solved the shudder issue. No more hesitation, and hwy mileage also went up. I was averaging 22 (hwy), and it is now closer to 26-27. Hoping for the best!

Out of state currently and started feeling the shudder again (yes, had the torque converter replaced in December 2012) at low RPM's (1k-1.5k). Not good when out of state. Going to call my local dealer tomorrow to go ahead and schedule an appointment as soon as I get back. Anyone else have this happen twice? Yes, it could be something else, but the symptoms are very similar.

Back home and have an appointment this Tuesday at my local dealer.

Anyone with recent experience on this happening twice?

Tranny troubles

I had trouble with the tranny in my 2012 Camaro. It has the RS package, don't know if that makes a difference. It wasn't shifting correctly. Took to the dealship and they told me that it was the torque converter. Replaced it...it was still under warrenty. I haven't had anymore tranny troubles. (keeping my fingers crossed) That was about a year ago.
I have to say...I just LOVE my Camaro I get alot of compliments on it.
