The Honda civics do not race in gts class which is the class that the camaros run in. They run in tc class. The series should look like a local highway, at least that was the goal of the world challenge owners. The cars that run in tc are supposed to look like cars that you could buy from a dealer and race.

Well considering I drive in that rac my fellow drivers and I as well as our fans enjoy watching the races. Trans-am is already back they have their own series.

We've been on a lot only because we go before the gt races. They will be on soon.

Gts airs on nbc sports we air on NBC sports and also have special programs for us on Mav TV because we get less air time on NBC sports.

This weekend was a great weekend for televised motorsports.
Really enjoying the Pirelli and TUDOR series. Love seeing a car going around the track that could potentially be bought at a dealer and built at home.
Love it a whole lot better than that nascrap that permeates the television and ruined speeed channel.

Racers...could a v-6 camaro be built to compete to run against the Kia's?? would the rules allow a really hopped up v-6?

The GTS class Camaro runs the LS3 and is restricted to 400 rear wheel horsepower. It weighs 3500 lbs stripped down with safety equipment. I'd say it would take a lot to get the V-6 to that kind of power reliably and able to handle the stress of racing. Here's where I got the technical data. http://www.superchevy.com/news/1404-...rld-challenge/

Dude the kia's are kicking the camaros and mustangs butts,,you think that engine is close to being stock?

whats keeping the camaro from hot rodding the crap out of the v-6, with twin turbos like the kias?

Finally, the bigger cars were racing today on Mavtv.....about time....

anyway can someone tell me the politics of this class and why the kia's get
away with a car that competes and beats the mustangs and camaros???

i know they bought the class, but come on..

They level the playing field every race depending on the race sponsor, desparity in performance results & politics within teams. Money rules Bros and Kia is bringing it.

Try watching the Continental Tire Sports Car Challenge instead. The Z/28.R's are doing really well.

IIRC The 24 hour Le Mans style race at Sebring showed that the Ecoboost 3.5L could keep up with the LT1 equipped vehicles. (At least until the last lap of the race, or close to it.)

You know I'm a fan of all road racing but I am amazed that the speed of th pirelli world challenge cars are actually faster than the continnental sports car series cars.

at road America the black dog camaro in work challenge
lapped almost 4 seconds quicker than the Stevenson camaros did.

Both have great competition and it's fun to watch.
