To keep it simple, the 1LE is a track focused camaro. Think of it like a big go-kart. Best $3,500. I have EVER spent.

For reference, the parts list for the suspension components that are changed / upgraded with the 1LE package;
Quote:
Package also includes forged wheels 20 x 10 up front, 20 x 11 in back 285/35 20's, if I recall correctly, on all four corners, different gearing within the transmission, 3.91 rear end gears, a strut tower brace, short throw shifter, some interior differences (flat bottom steering wheel and alcantara covered steering wheel and shifter). I probably left one or two other things out too. It is ridiculously good value for the money. The wheels alone are worth a significant chunk of the $3500.00 and the suspension components detailed above sell for $1500.00, just for the parts, to folks who'd like to upgrade their SS (like me) or V6. Just the suspension componentry was well worth the money, and if I'd found this forum before purchasing the car, rather than after, I would have gone for the whole package. As it is, by the time I get new wheels and tires, I'll have spent well over the package price to replicate it. |

You can get the Recaros in 2013s I thought?
It takes the SS and makes it sharper and harder in all the right ways.

The trans and diff and steering wheel and shifter and wheels and fuel pump are all out of the ZL1. All significant upgrades.

A bit more detailed list of EXACTLY what a 1LE has:
• Tremec TR6060-MM6 (different gearing than Tremec TR6060-M10) • Air-to-Liquid Transmission Cooler • ZL1 short-throw shifter • 3.91 axle ratio • Larger, 27-mm solid front stabilizer bar, and 28-mm solid rear stabilizer bar • Higher-capacity rear-axle half shafts • Strut tower brace • Forged Wheels 20x10 Front, 20x11 Rear • 285/35ZR20 Goodyear Eagle Supercar G:2 • 1LE-specific Monotube shocks • ZL1 wheel bearings, toe links and rear shock mounts • ZL1 high-capacity fuel pump and additional fuel pickups • Front Splitter • ZL1 flat-bottom steering wheel • Electric power steering (all 2013+ Camaros) • close ratio manual transmission that has higher final drive (3.91 vs. 3.45) • air-to-liquid cooling system lifted from the ZL1 (trans and oil coolers) • 20-inch wheels covered in Goodyear Eagle Supercar G:2 tires, 285 on all 4 corners • Improved wheel bearings (zl1) • Improved toe links • upgraded sub-frame bushes • Better rear shock mounts • rear monotube shocks • thicker antiroll bars(27mm front, 28mm rear) • strut-tower bar • beefed up the rear-axle half-shafts • ZL1's high-capacity fuel pump and additional fuel pickups were also added to prevent fuel starvation in hard-cornering situations. • matte-black hood • functional front splitter • rear spoiler • Oil catch can • red Brembo brake calipers • ZL1's flat-bottom, microfiber-covered steering wheel • short shifter topped with a microfiber shift knob.

Basically a N/A ZL1. I bought mine for 35k with 21k km. For the money they are tough to beat. Get one and you will not be disappointed.

I can disagree. i fyou plan to drag race. You will be disappointed. Otherwise its teh best car ive owned dynamically. and maybe aesthetically as well. But my older CTSV1 is hard to beat there.

You are right about that. My last car was an 03 Cobra. Really hard to beat the low end supercharged torque they make. If you have never experienced that sensation before the Camaro should suffice, but to those that know better well......
