Please keep us posted through the build with updates and pics.
I can only bet how awesome this beast is going to be on the street. Tame at idle, but a M-O-N-S-T-E-R at WOT!! Very nice.
Will it be running on pump gas? I assume so, what octane as well?
GOOD LUCK with everything.
Thanks for your interest! It will be running on regular pump gas, 87 octane. We can run high compression with an agressive tune, because of the water/methanol injection system. This system raises octane 20 to 25 points, so this will be the same as running 107-112 octane. The system uses two jets, a small primary and a larger secondary. The system is controled by a microprocessor that reads the PWM on the engines fuel injectors. As throttle is applied the primary starts to inject the water/methanol and increases flow as more throttle is applied. When you start to romp on it, the secondary jet kicks in. If we feel the need for a little more power, we can blend 1-2% nitromethane into the water/meth mix!

Garage Pics

Here are some photos of the garage, that a few of ya'll requested. Fresh paint, new colors, new lighting. I am still waiting on a bunch of banners from my engine builder. I hope I can keep the clean look. All the crap that was in the garage is now pilled up in my workshop/storage area. It will probably take me a year or two to make it functional again. Well, it's time to start cleaning and doing the Zaino thing, while I wait for my engine builder to get ready for the car.

I will be starting a new thread in the next day or two titled "Getting Ready For My 2SS/RS, RJT Part 2". This is where I will post pics & info on the engine build and other mods.

That sounds so KILLER!! I makes total sense the way you explained it.
Cannot wait. Now with this water/methanol injection system? What is it exactly? Is it a canister that sits in the engine compartment? And, how hard is it to get that water/methanol mix? Where do you get that stuff?
Again, I like your build set-up.

The system is by Snow Performance. You can go to www.snowperformance.net You can see all the diferent types of systems, lots of tech info and forums. I have been useing one of their systems on my '04 Chevy Silverado 2500 HD, Duramx Diesel for about five years. The people there are very friendly and helpful. I first started useing water/methanol injection back in 1979. That was on a turbocharged Mustang Cobra. I will be useing a 2.5 gallon tank mounted in the trunk on the Camaro. You can buy the mix from Snow but it is expensive. I take my 5 gal. fuel jugs to one of the local speed shops to get filled. About $5.25/gal. I mix it at home 50/50 with distilled water as I need it.

Thanks for the info Gib. I really appreciate it. And, I can really appreciate your build as well. (I'm a horsepower junkie!!!) lol
Does this mix run out quick? About how many miles can you get on a 2.5 gallon that is mounted in the trunk? THANKS!!

It all depends. Every application is diferent. This is the first time I have done water/meth injection on a N/A engine. All my applications in the past have been on turbocharged engines. On my Silverado Duramax diesel i use about 1 gal. of mix for every 2 to 4 tanks of fuel. I don't even turn the system on during the winter months. Diferent applications, diferent goals. The Camaro set-up will be useing a whole lot more due to the agressive tune and the use of regular fuel. We will be dialing in all the spark advance that she can take. I will not know until it's all tuned, dialed in and go through several tanks of gas on the street. I hope that It does not use over 1.5 gal. per fill up. We can also back off of the timing some and use premium fuel and re-tune to use less. We will be doing a lot of experimenting with this engine set up to find the right balance. I guess I am not to worried about how much mix this set-up will use, since this engine will probably get about 7-9 MPG on the street. As they say, pay to play!
