Any word on convertible weight? Motor Trend threw out a around 150 pound figure for the SS, bur it sounded more like a guess than anything.

Surprised nobody has pointed out that there is a SS spoiler on the non SS models.

On the vert right? I just noticed that. Wonder if it's something with all the verts since the coupe has the blade.

Nice write up! You live 5 miles from me, but I don't ever recall seeing a silver 1LE cruising around.

Nice to see the 2.0 turbo in them I had one though Likley different in my 2008 Cobalt SS Turbo 2.0
I fully bolted the car minus just a intercooler and dyno tuned it made 300hp and 370tq to the wheels these engines love torque more then horsepower I find which is a good thing. could take them up to 450hp before the rods would be maxed but if you planned on any type of reliability I would keep it under 400hp and 400 tq for a LNF 50000km it held that power then the only problem I had was the injectors went at that point. These direct injection turbocharged engines cake up Quickly I sea foamed mine twice. I'm sure they have improved these since then but I wouldn't doubt there soul comes from that motor it was basically to good to be true of a engine to be in a cobalt. I had a catch can it caught nothing. I embarrassed some people that's for sure in cars that easily were twice as much or more then my SS Because of the 2.0 performance is why I'm back in for another SS though I went V8 this time around.

Great read! Yeah, I know, there are going to be a lot of V8 fans who will accept nothing less, but for some of us, a 0-60 of 5.4 seconds is pretty freaking good -- particularly when you combine that with good, sporty handling. If you don't call that performance, then I don't know what to say. This is going to be affordable for more people, without being numbed-down as an entry-level model. Personally, I'm interested in the 4-cyl turbo, and it's unlikely that I'd feel like modding it to go faster. Bone stock, it's faster than a long list of performance-oriented cars.

The 2.0 is a nice choice but GM is asking way too much for it. A stripper 1SS vs a loaded 2.0 are close in price but performance and resale value are in different ballparks.
