I'm interested to know the performance comparison, followed by creature comforts. I'm still not a fan of the new body style though... If you twist my arm and force me to buy one, it'll have to be the white color. But, I'm still eying the C7 Z06's though... SEXY!!!

That grill makes me dizzy looking at it.

I'm coming from a convertible, so yes, there is a night and day difference in handling. No surprise, the car feels light and responsive compared to my convertible. How much of this can be attributed to having a top and how much is the result of the alpha platform I can't say. If I had to take a guess I'd say 60% alpha, 40% top.

I'm following the break-in procedures so I haven't gone above 4K. If I had to describe the acceleration below 4K, it feels like the difference between a stock LSA and one with a 10% crank pulley. Boost seems to come in faster than it does on a stock LSA. No question the car feels all around quicker.

It still boggles the mind that GM uses a clunky, plastic intake box with a panel filter on these machines. You're suffocating the poor car. They went in the right direction when they hired K&N to engineer an open-element style system on the Z/28. Ford even used an open-element system in the GT500 for it's entire run ('07-'14). That is my only gripe. Other than that...

...So far no regrets with the trade. The car is a significant upgrade over my 5th gen ZL1. The added creature comforts by themselves such as the Recaro memory seat, keyless entry/start, side mirror blind-spot sensors, Apple/Android CarPlay, ventilated seats, automatic climate control make the trade up a no brainer in my opinion.

=============================================

So the manual ZL1 has remote start?????

No remote start -- Keyless or push button start is probably a better description.

It's nice to push a button to start the car and not have to stick a key in the ignition.

So when are the automatics coming out?

When you say no auto-start, do you mean that option doesn't exist... or that you didn't purchase that option?

According to Chevy the automatic and convertible will be available sometime in Q1 of 2017.

There's no auto/remote-start option on the manual transmission. The clutch pedal has to be depressed in order for the car to start.

According to Jannetty's testing, the stock air box on the Camaro LT1 is pretty good.

Any gains seen with a 3rd party intake don't happen until RPMs reach above 4000 and look to be rather minimal. I would guess the gains from a CAI on the ZL1 would be greater because of the FI. By how much is still anybody's guess.

Several independent tests on the Roto-Fab for the LSA showed a ~25RWHP gain over stock. Having personal experience with the Roto-Fab on an LSA, I believe every bit of it.
