it's just another workout where you go all-in on everything. Learn to control the excitement/all that energy is wasted. Keep working on turning it on, and turning it off and just relaxing. In competition, those that can really focus on the lift and turn off all the crowd/noise/distractions, will always do better.

Got into it like you would be competing against yourself. All you can do is do your best, and let the cards fall where they may. If you can do that, be happy with what you accomplished on that day.

once you get one under your belt, you will want to taste more. Because you know, you are trainging for something, and want to improve from the last competitioin. It is an amazing feeling to be in it, than to be watching it. Be in it, have fun, push yourself!

To echo what hrpiii said....

You can't control who shows up and what they lift. Ultimately you are competing against yourself and it will give you a starting point for future meets.

Also like hrpiii said it's essentially just an all out training session. Nothing to be nervous about

Really hope you choose to go!

thank for the advice, made me look at it in another way. I guess looking at it like I am competing against myself will definitely help me mentally. I have been busting my butt lately trying to prep myself as if I am going to compete. We will see what happens! Thanks again.

YOu are very welcome. based on your size and strength, you will do very well. Missing a lift will piss you off more than not placing. Oh, I know, all to well of that...hehehe. Just like anyone else, you judge yourself harder than anyone else, and have the highest expectations. Focus your workouts toward the competition, work on your weaknesses, and most of all, relax and have fun. Think of it like a car show. You get to hang out and talk "shop" with all kinds of people that share your interest.
