I checked through my resources and the SS and LT/LS models will share the Tremec T56 manual transmission and the Hydra Matic 6T70 automatic transmission in both coupe and convertible models. I hope that helps to add some credibility to that information.

The TR6060 is essentially an upgraded T56 and replaced it a few years ago. Due to the similarities between the two, some use the terms interchangeably.

Hey all, new to this forum.
I've test driven 5 cars and i've decided on the 2012 SS 45th version, but before i give my dealer any money i want to see if there's a final list (names, not codes, i haven't been hanging out here long enough to know the codes) of colors for 2012. I know the 45th version only comes in the black sparkle color, it's the same color that is on the Cadillac CTS-V. I know for sure because i also just bought a 2012 CTS (not the V).

Also, any solid news on whether or not they're going to bump the HP on the SS for 2012?

It seems like the rumours about a hp bump for the SS was just that, a rumour.

The names of the paint colors for the 2012 model year are:
Silver Ice Metallic
Carbon Flash Metallic
Summit White
Black
Victory Red
Rally Yellow
Inferno Orange Metallic

Also the horsepower ratings for the V8 engines are the same as the two previous model years. The only engine getting a horsepower bump would be the V6 and for the 2012 model it is a completely different engine as well. I hope that answers your questions.

Thanks for posting the list of 2012 colors available at this time. I realize that you do not know for sure, but what is your best guess as to when additional metallics, and specifically Crystal Red Tintcoat, will be available for ordering. Again, just your best guess. Thanks!

Jeff, if you're still lurking, do you know when the build-your-own portion of the Chevrolet website will be updated to let me build a 2012 Camaro? Also, any news about pricing? I want to know what a 2LT, Inferno Orange, with the RS package, automatic, and rearview camera will cost.

My order went in yesterday for a 1SS Convertible. The ordering system is up and running. They should be picked up as soon as the allocation of sold units is updated. Pricing not available yet but it will be about 1.5 to 2% above last year.
