When I go to the track to do some recreational drag runs I'll show the numbers, but that's not my only goal. Besides, it won't mean much because I'm sure there are lots of vehicles with alot less TQ and HP #'s, and much better drivers that will kick my butt. But, I'll tell you this; I'm pretty scared already when my front tires lift off the ground. So, until I make a living racing cars which is highly unlikely; Regardless of which car / SC combination is 1/10 sec. faster, I'm good with what I have.

BTW....it took 18 psi for that first Procharger to get to 9's This thread is talking about your choice to either take a maggie or a procharger for your Camaro. If we are talking about your pro-charger for a 5th gen camaro....there is no comparison between your procharger and the ones that win classes or races that you mention....those are prochargers at the top end of the PSI spectrum....not 8.5. If all procharger's could only do 15 or 20 psi....they wouldn't win those divisions or have records....just saying.

As for comparing Dyno sheets I rather like the one my car just pulled with the Maggie. Yeah it comes on fast and hard, yeah you really have to drive it and roll into the throttle. But on full slicks if I can find a well prepped track I think 9's are in to works! Just a note of caution, the engine is forged, and this is a 111 octane race gas tune. I would be scared to run this kind of boost on a LS3 without forging, and pump gas just inconsistant in octane to trust.

Hey Midgard, post up a dyno sheet on that KB Beast! would love to see it!
Like many have said before, proof is in the time sheets, but the dyno sheets are very interesting.

Here ya go
Remember this is for an Auto too....and the KB certainly has another 150 hp or more left in it. I probably don't exactly have 800 rwhp...but since this was done with those heavy 315s and 20 inch wheels.....and now I have the 17s on there....I think I'm around 790 or 795 rwhp at least..

Right now we are spinning the Maggie right around 17 - 17.5. With another drop in pulley size to go that will be between 19 and 20.

I have slicks and skinnies now, and plan on tuning the suspension as best I can here at this elevation. Then I will sneak over to Dallas or Houston to get on a real track and see what whe will do this fall when the air gets good. I know the manual tranny is a handicap, if I can get into the low 10's I will be pretty happy. I have also shed about 20 lbs with the rotors, and hope it will help a little. If the slicks will stick for me, the front wheels should come off the ground and really get the weight back for me....9's are the holy grail for a stick. What kind of fuel you running in that beast? Any other power adders?

Correct, that is why I cringe sometimes when guys with nothing more than a SC are talking 650 + horsepower at 7 psi. I wont argue that they arent making that much power, just that it is a time bomb. I know I am being very conservative with my build and tune, but I want it to last and go the distance.

I run a full tank of 104. That's it, no other power adders. That would be truly bad ass if you can get into the 9's with a stick. I know it's hard. I've see a 750 rwhp car with a driver nit be able to crack 10.6. Good luck brother. What ate you running for tires? I need to step up and get skinnies finally. |
