You will be like, "why didn't I do this from day 1" after you install headers. The weight savings and power down the straights.....

In case you do decide to do headers later on, be prepared for a drastic change in exhaust sound, hence why it's a safer bet to work front to back on these cars sound wise.

Some end up taking off their Borla Atak's, and going back to the full heavy suitcase OEM stock item, once they do cam
Simply because the Borla system was a gift.....Headers are coming this winter! Yes, I expect the car to be louder. After driving a 646whp 1LE with kooks headersm no cats and NPP I have an idea how loud this thing could be.

Did you get a chance to drive that 646rwhp 1LE on the track by any chance?

Was it SC or turbo? I asked the first question, because I'm curious how the weight up top of the SC, affects the beautiful balance of the 1LE on the track?

Twin Turbos I know can be installed down low, below the firewall....just curious on your thoughts after driving it!

Matt, have you measured your ride heights with the Z/28 suspension and 1LE wheels/tires?

No, I only drove it on the street and was more focused on keeping the thing straight as it was not mine to damage! I did mention on another thread that when I got back into my modded 1LE (Z/28 susp, 6Pistons ect) My car felt more like the GT3 than his 1LE. I was not comparing it to his GT3 as far as limits, acceleration ect.....just a "feel" while driving turning and braking at legal road speeds.

Yes, and this is going from memory. When I first installed it the front ride height was the same as stock (1LE) and the rear was 10mm lower than stock. I thought that was really odd.... After the alignment (-2.0 F /-1.5R )and about a week of driving and I measured again. The rear settled to about 20mm lower and the front was closer to about 10/15mm lower.

I once again am 1LE wheels-less and back on the OEM Z/28s so I can't check again..... Below are all recent pictures (previously posted) of the car sitting on the Z/28 suspension with 1LE wheels and 285/35/20 tires.

You attained -2* camber with no other mods? Nice!
You mentioned your 1LE felt similar to the GT3, can you describe the "feel" you mentioned, how the steering loads up, how it turns in?

What kind of toe are your running?

Correct, -2.0 camber with no other mods, except Z/28 suspension, which does sit about 15mm lower in the front than the stock 1LE. We were able to get -2.1 on one side but could match the other with them both maxed out.....I did run -1.9 with stock 1LE bits.

My GT3 was very general comment. Just saying with the touchy brake set up I have and Z/28 suspension the car felt more like the GT3 than the 1LE. My GT3/646whp 1LE owning friend drove my Camaro about a month ago an agreed it was very different than his 1LE and "felt" more like the GT3. NO, steering is very different between the cars and I didn't push his week old car on the street that much.....in a corner at least

I have been slacking as of late because we picked up a new home in the same area I live the beginning of Dec. ALLLLLLL my time and $$$$ has been spent at that house and my current house just hit the market yesterday.....The garage is bigger and attached with room for another 800sq/ft outbuilding on the property (Maybe one day) I did get a chance to move the car on a 40F day and actually wash it in the driveway prior to putting it up on the rollers and then the cover on.....

I will be back at this once I get settled in.

-Matt

You need to:
1. Make a Wheel Well profile for your car.
2. Make a YouTube channel featuring your car.
3. Do both 1 and 2 you fool.

And just because....I close friend just picked up this beautiful Ford Mustang GT350TP. He doesn't have the experience I do on track, but I think his car will make up for some of that. I cant wait to run with him on track this summer. HMMMM wonder why he went with that color combo!

Considering you do track, I'm a bit surprised, that you haven't done some sort of hood vent/port job, like a Hex, T3, etc.

I'd be 100% surprised, if this never crossed your mind before, so I'm more curious than anything else, as to why you have concluded to not do this?

I'm still on the fence about getting shims for the 6 piston brembo swap, and having said that I couldn't even figure out how to locate them on the hard brake website. I had pretty much given up on the idea when I noticed you list them in your build. Care to share your hard brake search wizardry?
