Hmm..never thought about a larger diameter. I mean it's only .25" difference and you're still creating a sound chamber so you should get results. Maybe BigRed knows more about this?

The larger diameter will just cancel more sound. The only thing that matters here is the length. The only thing with using 2.5 inch pipe is its harder to cut and weld into the 2.5 exhaust pipe.

^What the mach man said is right on^ The larger the diameter produces more attenuation (decrease in intensity) of the offending frequency (just say "loudness", pop). The length goes after the "tone". More "bang for the dollar" in the big stuff.
Cut and weld; cut and weld. |

I believe the limit is now 0.08 in all 50 states now... Agree with you on your comment...

found this:
"Another possibility is that the driver had a blood alcohol content (BAC) reading somewhat lower than .08%, but also showed signs of impairment. The “legal limit” is simply the number above which a driver is automatically guilty of driving under the influence (or some related statute) without any other evidence. However, many states also allow for a DUI offense and conviction when a driver has a slightly lower BAC reading but also fails field sobriety tests, drives erratically or otherwise shows signs of being impaired." So just because your are below .08 doesn't mean you aren't guilty of DUI...
