OK, I can post again.

Wow! Interesting stuff. Keep the votes coming!

All that has changed is the center, brake section.

You could tint the outer lens, sure.

I like #1 the best. Since I've seen them often, I'm tired of the individual LED look. 5 isn't bad. Would like to see them tomorrow, but you're likely to be staring at my tail lights all day.

I also like 1 and 2 the best. If you end up with the individual LED look, I like the diffuse look of 4.

5 is the best I think. Cost isn't as important as getting the look right. It won't add that much more to the price would it? I'd rather have it look right and pay a bit more.

If we do the diy version couldn't we reuse the stock piece to get the look of number 5? That wouldn't cost anything extra

If the picture is accurate (and I know it's tricky to get good pictures of lighting!) I like #5 the best. It breaks up the LED's in a unique way.
Second-best is the truly diffuse look of #1.
Don't like the rest, but in order it would be
2, then 3, then really disliking 4, and hating 6.
Tony, can you explain why using the stock parts would require the most rework and be the most expensive? That seems odd.
Regardless of what you pick, it's not stopping me, because the brake lights are rarely on.

Not for the DIY kit, no. It would, though, if you wanted us to reshape the stock lenses for you.
