I really wouldn't go to ebay for something like this...a factory part can be found for less than $80

For a less than $100 part I would buy new. With electronics there is always a possibility of it being DOA. But that's just me.

Maybe one of the Mods can add "(SOLVED)" to the thread title. Also, why hasn't this hit the Homepage yet?

If my electronics experience serves me right, I think those are capacitors that you cracked open. The small chips to the right of the capacitors are likely the sensors. Note that they are positioned 90 degrees from each other. I am by no means an electronics expert, but I did stay at a holiday inn express last night!

This may be a dumb question, but can you get another plug with leads and put both yaw sensors (or whatever they're called) and set up a switch between the two, so that the Hill Start Assist could be activated/deactivated by switching between the two sensors?

Any ideas as to what kind of impact this part will have on the stabilitrak system or if the only real difference is for the HSA?

If you search for "acceleration sensors", you'll find 2-D and 3-D versions. It does not appear that you need two separate sensor chips for 3-D sensing. The link below ↓↓↓ is for purposes of illustration only. http://www.sunrom.com/sensors/accele...-sensor-3-axis In the above case, the 90° chip orientation is most likely for printed circuit conductor routing reasons. I have no idea what the one that the +5V goes to does. Norm |

So easy to love Camaros

Called the dealership, they want $110 plus tax so if you find it new for less, grab it. I think I'll loose the launch stats in the DIC under the performance menu, but since I don't use it and I'm more bothered by the HSA, I'll be making the swap.

First off, thanks to EVERYONE that pitched in to solve this effing fiasco, especially to SSRS1LE.
Next time I'm in Pitt I'm buying you a pitcher of Yuengling. Best I could tell, gmpartsdirect.com had the lowest price, $80.15 shipped. There are used units on ebay, but for peace of mind I went with new. I may not it installed for a while yet (still awaiting new steering rack from GM, but that's a whole different fiasco), but when I get done I'll post up. Thanks again!

Personally, I doubt it would ever get noticed during any warranty issues, unless they have to test said issue on a hill for some reason
