Coming from a 6 speed 1le to the zl1 I tried shifting it myself with the paddles but the delay was apparent. When the car shifts itself it’s seamless and so fast. I’ll just worry about it keeping it facing forward and let it shift itself.

Honestly, I have no issues with the manual shifting operation of the A10. I prefer to use paddles but even when using the shifter in sequential mode, its intuitive to me. I've not noticed any delay using the paddles, so maybe the programming is different for some years.

I too like the drive option to let the car shift itself. It seems to shift much faster then manual shifting

Well if the programming is good enough then fudge the paddles!

I hear you ZPirate. I've driven manual 95% of my driving life so I'm just way too used to it to switch to auto now. These newer automatics do sound cool though

I prefer the slam shift mode compared to the paddles. It is a little bit faster.

Well if I'm cornering, I would prefer to keep both hands on the wheel and use the paddles, if I'm drag racing, I would just let the trans shift itself.

I agree, I’m just talking literal reaction time between the two modes with human interaction. I don’t know how many times coming out of a corner in manual and then trying to up shift with the paddles with your hand on the wheel 9 and 3 at a 90° angle . I prefer the forklift steering wheel suicide knob, and the slam shift on the consul.
