I barely made it 40k on mine and had to replace front rotors as well. Mostly city stop and go driving

Now using hps pads and couldn't be happier

Lotsa owners over on the Hhr board were posting
the mileage for original pads. Bout the same as
ones above say for the Camaro.
My '11 Hhr stock break pads lasted over 70 k,
with a lot of extra stops doing news paper route.
All that distance and they were dust free too !

I was thinking I would need front pads soon after 6 years and 39,000 miles. After reading
the above posts I guess not. Good to know.

V6 pads will last a long time, I had 120k on my blazer when I put pads on and they looked to have 75-80% life left. Brembo pads, a different story.

110K on original pads. Could have squeaked another 5-10K out of them, but I didn't want to take a chance on hurting the rotors. Brembos always had a little squeal during light braking, but are awesome brakes!

Installed Hawk ceramic pads and they are quiet, however they did squeal for the first few days. I didn't scrub the rotors with brake cleaner and sand paper, as recommended by some. So far performance is good. Maybe a little less braking power than stock, but still great. Dust is reduced by appx 50%.

I've had more than one car that went over 100k before ever touching the brakes. Usually it was because of a lot of highway driving.

I just changed my original pads on my car with 17K and they still looked new. I changed out the rotors and to slotted and drilled as well as installing stainless steel break lines so I put new pads on. I essentially threw out almost new pads.

Mine made it to right around 40k on the front. New stock pads, old rotors. Rear pads will probably last to 60k. Have to do rotors and pads next go around on the front for sure.

80k is nice!

55K on original Brembo/Ferrodo pads. Fronts were gone but rears looked good for another 10-15K if I wanted to wait but I did them anyway.

Made sure to replace them with actual GM Brembo/Ferrodo parts to keep the OEM performance. If they are not marked that way, you did not get the OEM pieces. Ferrodo name is stamped into the metal backing plate. One thing I learned - make sure you clean and reuse the factory anti-squeel shims between the FRONT pads and the calipers. The GM parts OEM replacement front pad sets DO NOT come with them and you might accidentally toss them in the trash with your old front pads. You need to re-use them. I can find plenty of home made DIY videos out there and nobody is pointing this out. Additionally, the white arrows are to be installed pointing UP. White paint marks on the outside of the front pads are visible once installed and will also both be UP.

The genuine GM replacement REAR pads have new shims and spacial brake assembly lube included. No arrows or paint marks on the rears. They do have the Brembo/Ferrodo name on them.

Hope this helps.
