They're also made up of completely different components depending if it's for the V6 or the SS.

At this point it's just a name since they're not the same components.

The engine size argument can perhaps be made for say a Lotus track car, which is small and light, but not a 3,700 lb pig that is the Camaro. Of course engine size matters. I don't know about you, but I've never been lapped by an "Iron Duke" with a Pedders suspension kit before on the track. And right or wrong, when a company starts expanding their name plates to include smaller engines, many enthusiasts start seeing that action as "whoring out" for profits. But at the end, their cars, their name plates. I can only vote with my wallet.

It would be a cool car if the v8 wasn't available.

That said it did beat the GT which is pretty funny.

Even Batman had Robin. In the end no one talks about Robin and everyone talks about Batman. Enough said.

Seriuosly, you really think it likely that 1LE owners are dying to trade down to the Euro styled V6 1LE "Light". Not meant to be answered. We all know what the General is up to and while not a shock it is disappointing. The previous 17 posts are all correct.

You might want to look at the current Car and Driver issue. In their "Lightning Lap" the 2017 V6 1LE beats the Mustang GT time and comes in 0.5 second slower than a Charger Hellcat.

Changes nothing. As previously stated. Awesome. Give it a handling package. Don't recycled and sully the name of an existing one. Just call it Performance pack. Because now 1LE means little in 6th gen. Two completely different packages

If anyone spends the money for a 1LE package, but gets the V6 will be very shocked to learn that they don't get any badging only an upgraded suspension. If they want to be the pretender to a track car, I don't care. Plus I love the burble of the NPP on the LS3. I will keep what I have.

Nailed it.

Basically an SS with a V6 engine. A good idea but not a true 1LE.

I'm more butthurt by the fact that the '17 SS 1LE was 6.7 seconds quicker than the 5th gen 1LE (though I remember hearing about the 5th gen running a 2:58 a while back but cant find anything on it now so maybe it was made up, even still thats a solid 3.2 seconds).

Of course I knew it would be quicker but damn. 5th gen just isn't even remotely close.

Price as tested for the V6 was 43k lol

I don't see it as a high seller as the 2017 ZL1 will take those sales away. For the added price of a suppose 1LE track pack (basically you get a suspension upgrade in which case most people upgrade anyway) of a 2017 compared to the cost of a ZL1 I see the wise choice of buying the 2017 ZL1 over the 2017 1LE a better package. GM also put 6 cylinder motors in the full size trucks and that turned a lot of buyers to other manufactures. I am a huge GM fan but it does not meen I'm going to buy whatever dumb idea they try to sell me.

I’m disappointed since they use completely different parts between the V6 and the V8. I’ll just add this to my list of 6th Gen Camaro disappointments……

C&D said they had old tires and blew a shift on the 5th gen LL. They said it was a 2:59.x in their hands with fresh tires.....still 5 seconds behind the new 1LE. I'd like to try out those new gen F1 Supercar tires, tho......
