LS3 and 6 speed are close and an easy drivers race, the 392s to worry about are the automatics, easy mid 12 cars.

I have both an SS and a 2011 392. Neither has been to the track but the 392 feels much faster. I am talking about aggreesive around town and back road driving though.
Each car is awsome but I feel any unbiased person would tell you the 392 is the faster car in a 0-60 or quarter mile environment. I think a 392 is not far off a base vette... |

The stock 392 should beat the SS, but they can't be tuned to keep up with a tuned SS. Mopar has the ecm incripted and nobody can break the codes yet if ever.

Now this is getting carried away. Other than cost, the base LS3 vette does not carry the extra 1,000 pounds of weight of the SRT8 and gives up 40hp, no match other than in cost.

motor trend/road and track.... etc. c'mon those numbers are all over the place... for dodge, chevy ford etc, and they don't know how to drive. according to one review my stock 6.1 should be 7 tenths slower than what I ran 100 % stock.... 13.08@ 108.21 From what I have seen most 392 1/4 around 12.5-12.6, that know how to drive.. but here is an example from challenger talk....
I ran at Monster Mopar today and ran a new best of 12.33 at 113.91. The car is an automatic, F1 tirest at 27 lbs, has a K&N drop in filter and Zoomers catback. The DA was 982. I am really impressed. I got two runs and I am posting the slips for both. The other was a measly 12.46 LOL. Attached Thumbnails

We build them both. And I agree it is mainly a drivers race stock-stock.
Have a couple in right now...one for a Maggie & one for a Twin Turbo. Trans is weak so we always build them. |

Shamefully so....lol! He got me by a total of .021" of a second. I since have found that the SS has dropped about 25 HP across the board, running way rich at 4000 rpm up, checking some things out at the moment, exhaust leaks among some other little things....will keep you posted.

I'm not worried about it. lol
I am really tempted on wanting a SRT8 300C though. The white with black chrome trim is plain sexy. May have to trade in my 300c.
