Your new car's interior is made out of plastic, rubber and other materials that contain toxins. The coloring, bleaching, finishing, etc are made from even more toxic substances (don't eat your car!) .

In the summer your car's interior bakes, and those toxins can get released into the air inside your car. You should really open your windows right away and turn on the fan to freshen the air inside your car. No matter how yummy it smells, it's not worth lung problems down the road.
Yea the important thing is to avoid Max cause it's just a recirc of stale air.

Use it next summer. I know people that only use that. My mom things the compressor goes faster etc.. some people just don't get recirculation.

And in a new car that's probably more airtight than any GM coupe before.. (cause it's Holden roots) keep it on just normal AC if it's bothering you.

There is some medical research on this. My recommendation is leave your windows open in the garage for a couple of weeks when it is parked. All cars continue to off gas for some time after they are built. Since Camaros don't sit on lots very long we will have to deal with this more so than in many other cars. Vinegar will do nothing to stop chemicals from off gassing. The solution to the problem is letting the gasses escape not trying to cover them up.

When I bought my current car, I thought the smell was real strong, and about 2 weeks later I read a story on fox news that hyundai cars were the most toxic new cars. It was recommended to leave windows down as much as possible for the first 2 months of ownership.

I put 600 highway miles on with the windows down the first day. New car smell is gone.

I see that you are in Ohio..

I wouldn't mind taking that Camaro off your hands for a few weeks and driving it with the windows down. I promise when I give it back, the new car smell will be less obvious.

And we ordered the same color combo, so no problems.

My wife was complaining about the same thing...I'll probably air the car out in the hot sun one day to see if I can burn off some of the odor...

To get a 'pleasant' new car smell AND to properly care for your 'leather appointed' surfaces, I recommend Leatherique rejuvinator oil.

I've used this on my leather cars and it always does an outstanding job. My wife will even remind me on her car when the leather begins to 'not feel as soft' (generally once per year).

I don't like the smell from the AC. The new car smell is okay, but when I turn the air on it doesn't smell good.
