Perfectly said! I went with metra and installed. Works great. Didn't want the electrical issues of schosche |

I have had the scosche kit for over a year now with none of the issues others have described. I love it and would buy it again.

I think this decision is completely personal. Some like the looks of the Schosche, others the Metra. You have to decide for yourself.
Go google both kits and look at as many pictures as you can until you decide which works better for you.

I have the Metra, only issue so far is the colored light display on top panel is flickering and changing colors. I was advised to have a firmware update done, but not sure if that will help

Doesn't one remove the Lock/Unlock controls? I am looking into doing one of these, sounds like Metra is the way to go. Anyone running front and rear cameras on a '10?

I started out Metra and had it for about 2 years years when it had a complete melt down. Lighted panel stopped working and than got a short in the system and it died. I I changed it to the Scosche. Beside having to be close to the car to unlock the doors I have had no real issues with it.

I've had both in my 2010 ss. Neither gave me any problems. I changed out the Metra for a schosche and never had any regrets. It's just looked cleaner to me, where the Metra looks like a calculator. Traded up to zl1 and now have mylink which I like better than both of the other two. Maybe consider a mylink retrofit....

Metra in my 2013 ZL1, no issues.

my issue was the same. I went with the Metra (eventhough I thougt the Scosche just looked WAY more professional, this was at a time when they weren't on the market yet). Being impatient, I bought the Metra (because I did like the fact that I could color-match the top illumination to match the Cyan OEM color (as well as the footlwell lightng).
Everything worked just fine with Metra for about two years. Then all of a sudden, the BLUE color quit working altogether. No short, no anything. Red and green still work just fine, but BLUE (the color I really need) just doesnt work anymore. Obviously out of warranty, so I am stuck with a Metra in great condition, but no Blue capability. So now I want to rethink my original option of getting the touch-screen Scoshe...but am coming across too many horror stories! These things are way too much of an install-hassle to be swapping in and out, so I really want to make sure the Scoshe works well before I rip apart my console again! That being said, if anyone is interested in a perfecty fine working Metra (minus Blue illuination) feel free to hit me up.

Hallo,
i have changed my unit in my 2013 european Modell any times from Metra to scosche, from scosche to Metra. Metra was good, all worked fine, but i had to connect the xia-lcd to reach the vehicle-specific settings. If i had scosche in my camaro, my tpms failed. That was the only trouble i had have. Now scosche published an update for firmware for the uac (lcd-modul). What should i say, now are all works fine for 4 months. TPMS works fine, i can teach my sensors without Problems. Scosche was my favorite for changing oem unit against Kenwood DNX9210BT, now all works fine, no issues. This has already been confirmed in the German Forum ( http://www.camaro2010.de/t13699f49-P...html#msg452172 ), that the update fixes the bug with tpms. Best regards from Germany opossum

I am installing the schosche kit soon. I have read in a few other threads about issues getting battery and ignition sense? Has anyone had this problem? Or should I just connect the aftermarket radio harness wires directly to the schosche harness?
