Then there are always the tailgaters .Especially when they have a lane to pass and dont .I have had people who have done so while I was driving my companies box truck with a lift gate in back. Because I have had a couple of people do so and run into the back .It totaled their vehicle and just scratched the paint of the lift gate And one had a Policeman right behind them .So it didnt end well for them.

Yea I’m sure that’s true. I grew right next to the Appalachian trail in Virginia but rarely made it north of Hagerstown MD. I guess atleast There’s a ton of beautiful scenery along 81. Kinda makes up for the traffic at least a little.
Pyroguy is definitely right Maryland drivers can be pretty bad. Seems like every weekend the whole state drives thru Virginia on Rt 7 then to the little county 2 lane route 9 to Charlestown Wv to hit the casino up. 340 thru Maryland, over the Potomac to West Virginia is terrible on the weekends too. Sooo many idiots. I’m glad I don’t have to worry much about traffic on a daily basis anymore.

I hear you, man. If you think 70 is bad, take a ride on 65. You begin to wonder why they even put accelerators in cars after traveling on that for a few hours. I just got back from Indy (heading 65 south most of the way), and I was banging my head against the wheel from frustration. Left lane campers out the butt and semis holding up traffic. Once the lane would clear, I'd punch it for all of about 5 seconds before having to coast to the next pack of cars. I apparently ticked off some Ford Fusion along the way who decided that he would try to keep up with me. Every time I'd break away from him, I'd get stuck in another bunch of cars. For 50+ miles it was the same story: sit in pack, find an opening and punch it, coast into another pack, wait for Fusion to come back and ride my bumper because he's butt hurt about getting passed. Rinse and repeat. But my worst pet peeve is having multi-lane highways blocked by cars who are all going the same speed (or within a few MPH of one another). Why the fool would you block 4-5 lanes with 4-5 cars that are all going the same speed???!!! Either pass like you know how or keep your butt in one of the other lanes. It's really not that hard. Seriously. |

Dude, I thought that was just me. Just for kicks, try this sometime: when they get over and speed up (which they always do), just ride along side them until you come to another bunch of cars, then watch as they accept the results of their stupidity by having to slow back down to the speed they really wanted to travel before trying to make you pay for passing them. And under no circumstances should you get over for them. If they want to be idiotic and pass you back up, they have to earn the right. |

Its sad that most people do not seem to know how to drive at all. When growing up my Dad had always said to try and be courteous, if someone is getting on the highway move left if possible so they can get on. If someone wants to pass you the get in the right as soon as youre done passing whoever you are passing. No one seems to do any of that anymore. Granted if people were being jerks like they are now, he would grumble/cuss, floor it and go around the first chance he got. LOL

guys it's not rocket science here, you come to a car that is in the right lane, turn signal on, give it gas, pass, turn signal on, move to the right. continue on until you reach the same situation...
pass the word, and keep the left lane open for camaro's |

The problem today is, no one is teaching them these important skills. I’ve seen kids that just started driving, ripping down residential streets. At the local high school, there are at least 2 accidents a month due to new drivers not paying attention. Their fathers teach them the mechanics of driving but not how to drive. Also, there are no dmv refresher tests. People forget. I just re read the drivers handbook. There was tons I forgot about signs and what some road markings mean. Everyone should reread the handbook every few years. Lots have changed over the years. Why a refresher test is not required is beyond me. |

What really trips my trigger is drivers who think it's a race to see who can get to the red light the fastest. When the light ahead turns red as you approach, you should lift your foot off the gas right away. This saves gas, brakes, tires, and general wear and tear on the cars equipment. I have had drivers tail gate behind me, with fire in there eyes, as I am coasting to the red light, then race around me only to then slam on the breaks to stop as I then coast behind them to a steady smooth stop. I understand if there is a turn lane coming up and the driver behind me has his turn signal on I will keep my speed so they can get into the turn lane before the arrow turns on if I can. I think the reason this situation has gotten worse is because drivers want to stop as soon as possible so they can grab their phones and illegally start texting someone while they are stopped at the light. This is not a good excuse for this behaver. Do people really have all this extra money to spend on brakes, tires, and gas?

Usa drivers have no lane dicepline.
Best ive found is lead by example.. overtake on the left then move over to the right.. i cruise at 80-85 with occational bursts to 110 when passing.. when people see you winning and driving properly youll be surprised how many will start to drive properly.. Just make sure to honk at left lane hogs and tell them to move over.... the assholes wont but the sleepers will. |
