NO way we will get the trickle-down. It will cost GM way too much money to recert the car for imperceptible gains

Looks to me like they got the 18 hp by adding cold air induction with perhaps a tweak of the tune. I suspect the engine is otherwise the same.

ZL1 is definitely going to get a power bump for 2022. The standard 6.2 is going up t0 475 for 2022 someone posted. So ot makes sense ZL gets a bump also.

Agree with the agree (and agree). If they were to go to such lengths, why not just look for a way to jam the LT5 in the ZL1. Ok, I know that is A LOT more work (hood, chassis tuning, cooling, crash testing, etc) but we all understand the point. Clearly this would drive the price up, a lot. Has to be worth it in the end to GM (probably not, they are punting ICEs as we know). If it isn't in their development pipeline already it is not happening. All their eggs are going into the C8 variants E-Ray, Z06, ZR1 and Zora (?). Too many Corvette options but I think we all see how that plays out, want a base SS Camaro...just buy a Corvette....want a SS 1LE....buy a Z51/MRC car...etc.

Yes it’s in terrible shape and should be repaved to be worthy of those 3 beasts.
Rumor has it, his middle name is Moneybags. If I had the place and plenty of $’s I would probably have 1 of each as well.

Ok , So it looks like the consensus is 100% the ZL1 will NOT get a power increase for 2022. Put me in the disagree column and let’s look back on this in a few months. That’s the great thing about putting your ideas in writing. Time will tell.
More power is coming for ZL1 !

I am more interested in their Catch can solution for the CT5V b/w. Also what other parts from this car we can use on our ZL1.

Maybe, but the C7 Z06 never got a bump during its run.

I never said the ZL1 wasn't getting a power bump. I said its honestly quite possible since this engine appears to be the same 6.2 and 1.7L blower in the Zl1 now just slightly massaged to make more power. I don't see why it wouldn't be in the ZL1.

OK, I’ll put you in the the power bump is not going to happen category. Because if it didn’t happen in the past it for surely could never happen in the future in a different model car in a different year.

You said you agreed with the person who said no more power was coming. And I never singled you out, I don’t know why you are singling me out for making my prediction.

I have no idea what everybody is agreeing with. They say they agree with you but they didn’t say more power wasn’t coming. I’m very very confused. Are you saying more powers coming or not? Because everybody agrees with you.
