You keep saying base, what does a 1LE do on all seasons? Just asking.

I am starting to think GM allowed the 6th Gen Camaro to get unusually close to the C7's performance levels because they knew the C8 was around the corner and would change all that.

If there is a Gen 7 Camaro, I suspect it will get more power and more practicality. Not sure how much more performance they can squeeze out of that platform at that price range, it is just so good now, they don't really have to.
That could be.

So you think someone looking at a turbo 4 Camaro that can't afford an SS is going to buy a C8? This whole thing with the C8 is starting to remind me of the 5th gen Camaro .

I think it will impact mainly V8 sales and just 'maybe' 1LE V6 sales.

I mean, I have to admit I'm not a vette person but the C8 is ALOT of car for its price and has me reconsidering if I'm going to go for a ZL1 or C8...

2SS 1LE's maybe, ZL1's for sure. Already happening, there is a thread dedicated to people who cancelled their ZL1 orders and replaced them with C8 orders.

30K cars is the number of cars not the price....

It has to beat the SS 1LE and no, either way it won't effect sales .I talk to Camaro owners and Chevy salesmen that know nothing about the 1Le , you would think they would know the best performance SS you can buy from the factory .

I do agree that the Z51 will not beat the ZLE but I think it would be close.
Assuming the chassis development is good, I'd agree. But we won't know until they are tested. The C7 chassis really wasn't very good (compared to what it SHOULD have been).

You think salesmen would research what they sell so they don’t look like idiots when a potential buyer asks a question.
I went to my local dealer when looking for my Camaro a salesman came up to me in the lot and I told him I’m looking for a Camaro around 30k give or take a couple, he says there is no such thing all Camaros are over 40k.
Either he’s a idiot or he thinks I am , I bought it somewhere else.

It should beat the SS 1LE. LL has the C7 Stingray ahead of the SS 1LE by a second so I would think the C8 would be better
Who cares ? anyone that plans on buying a exotic supercar .

The SS 1Le also beat the Stingray on a few tracks , and by more than a second.

Is called mid-engine derangement syndrome... MEDS...

When you are on MEDS, you lack a perspective on reality. That being the C8 is the dominant platform and it ain't even out yet. The only reasons not to get one are akin to why you don't want to date a supermodel.... she's too fast, I may get arrested, I still love my X, were not compatible.. Well, I don't date supermodels because I'm short ugly have no talent, old and poor.... I don't get a C8 cause I'm going to retire and may or may not make above $140K figures on my next job. The truth shall set you free.

Not let's compare the base C8 on all seasons may or may not be faster on some tracks as my !LE on sticky summer tires... are we talking platform or tires??? I know a strawman argument. The C8 because it came in so cheap and can cut a sub 3.0 with the base engine... it has destroyed all other platforms in terms of performance and bang for the dollar. Toss in quite good looking and you got a supermodel that likes slugs like me... So stick to your 1LE.... I'd be truthful and say I'd trade in car in a heartbeat if I knew what job I would have this time next year PERIOD,

So please stick to the well the C8 ain't that good cause I got a !LE
