just curious how this works out, most of the old school rules seem to not apply to this engine so just watching and learning from Mace and RX/Tracy.

you are right, a lot of old school rule doesn't apply here such as an hotter engine on a dyno actually gaining couple horses on this engine.

So true, I remember scrming saying that his best pulls were always after the engine kept getting hotter. but with cold fresh air coming in.

It's strange but these cars seem to make the best power while the engine is hot.. let someone run your car up and down the street on wot then get back in the car and drive, I bet the feel of power will be night and day. Same with a dyno, cat, when you go dyno your car just remember how your car felt before going in, I bet after those wot runs on the dyno your car will feel different when you get back in.

pretty much. haven't seen the numbers for each size to compare the actual gain 6mm vs 12mm vs 18mm vs 25mm... the gain was a steady 8-10HP across the whole RMP band and helped smooth out the TQ bringing that up as well.

right on...yeah, 5 HP is about the minimum seen...with 8-10 all the way through. but for the $/HP and the effect it has on smoothing out TQ, its a great MOD. increasing the runner length and straightening out the airflow is the primary gain while insulating the IM from the engine heat being secondary, which also helps. i agree though...people have spent more for less which is sad. a serious case of infection by the mod bug.

Me too, I really don't want to have to change out my Vararam to an InJen. that is not going to sit well with the wife.

I'll just see if we can get the stickers.

Mace.. Did you see the results of the RX Isolator? 20hp and 28tq at 4000rpm. On a almost stock engine. If this is the case with a 9mm. I cannot imagine the gains with a 25mm.

Are you planning on dynoing a stock LLT motor with the 25mm isolator?

A couple members here (with most of not all available bolt ons) dyno'd with the MACE 25mm and I believe they also gained into the 20s at off peak power, while peak power was 14 or so hp/tq.

These insulators are amazing for helping the engine to perform to its potential and keeping that hot air out!
