Had I known how afm really worked, I would have bought a manual. This needs to be toggle on/off capable.

Wondering why those 13 that voted for liking AFM, did so. Possible better gas mileage or don't notice it operating?

Only about 16% like it and of those 2 appear to not be driving a Camaro SS . And some of those who don't will or have disabled it even tho it invalidates the warranty.

swansor stated he gets 29 MPG on the highway. I said I don't think so.
Not to jack this thread but I'll say it again, I don't think so. I came back from Boston (sox game) PM last light, and on I-90 between 70 & 75 MPH I averaged 25.1 MPG- An all time high for my 8800 mile 2SS A6. When I got my car last year the best I could do was 22.4 MPG with the cruise set @ 70 MPH for one hour. Again, sorry for the jack.

Geez, I was able to sustain just under 24 mpg on a recent trip my wife and I took with Rosie a couple of weeks ago. This was a five state cruise mostly interstate and some extensive city driving. So, I wouldn't discount higher mpg numbers with a light gas pedal use en route. (And Yes I realize, it isn't comparable to my LS3 - Manual) But in the end, if I had to drive this car every day for work, I would have an L99 Auto.

Now, about the AFM deal, you gotta ask yourself whether or not you would rather pay a hefty Gas Guzzler tax when you buy the car. I recently looked at a Challenger SRT8 and fell over when I saw the $1700 guzzler tax and a hwy rating of 19 mpg. All I could say was ouch!!!!!

Not sure why one would feel "embarassed" by the sound of their exhaust. Never paid much attention to that when I am going 65 mph. Someone running next to your car making faces at the sound???????

Not convinced that AFM would cause the MPG to drop below 19 or what ever the threshold is.

We also lost 25hp because of the Auto.

AFM is not terrible when everything is stock, but at times it does feel sluggish. Even with an axleback exhaust I notice it now, but that problem goes away when I blare my music the way I do...

I will hold off on the tune until I get headers...knock it out during the dyno tune I suppose..

I guess it is a great concept if it had been done a little more precise with less issues...or only activating above 50-60 mph...but again, didn't notice it when I was stock as far as sound goes..

AFM has to go or at least have a turn off switch. I can feel it kicking on and of around town. At 35MPH, if I give the car a little gas, it actually slows down 1 MPH...sort of like an older carburator car with too big a carb on it. I do get 26.1 MPG at 70MPH on the flat Florida highways....but this goes down to 12 MPG in the city....with easy driving. Not what I got the car for.
