What a great bunch of responses. I think we all are on the same page. I do see my next jump to a CZ06...

If the report I read today wasn't an April fools joke, then it looks like my next car will be an 808 Hp ZL2.
I better start saving now. I'm sure they won't be cheap.

The ZL1 is an awesome car. I would have loved to have gotten one, but saying that, I love my car. Enjoy your fine ride!

Wow, didn't catch it until you pointed it out.... nice... okay no ZL2 then.

"Allison Performance Research & Integration Logistics, a division that works closely with the Formula Optimization & Outright Lap Sector teams" definitely an April fool in the caps....

I just bought my ZL1 2 weeks ago and I'm totally infatuated and coming from a 2013 GT500, I think that means a lot.

Will a 2016 Camaro SS compete with a 2015 ZL1? Stock for stock we may see closing numbers but the bigger difference is that the ZL1 is built to take more. The ZL1 has a tougher drive train and rear-end and more engine capability. It will cost a lot less to drop 1s from the ZL1 than it would to drop 1s in the SS and the ZL1 will hold up better.

My feeling is, the biggest advantage to the Gen6 is the weight advantage however that comes at a size disadvantage. I don't know the track and wheelbase of the Gen6 but I imagine its going to be smaller which may mean a little less lateral grip in the corners.

I love my 2015 ZL1, I think if I throw some $ at it, I can drop 200lbs? Maybe?

I love the 5th Gen size ! I read Las week that the 6th has a wider track and something else in the front but everyone did hear that GM was making it smaller! So it'll be interesting! But love everything about the 5th Gen, so definitely can't replace these.

I have no intention of buying a 6th gen.
I have a ZL1 convertible, a 2013, the first year they were made, and this car is awesome.

Sweet but you mean the second year because 2012 was the first for the ZL1.

I think the convertible ZL1 came out late while the coupe for sure is a '12.

Yes, I ordered a 12 but got hit by the QC and ended up with a 13 about the same time the vert debuted.

Will wait to see the car and performance data. Will need to be a 650 hp Z something. History says I will change at some point but I do like my 14 ZL1.
