OK, here is what I really want to know...with this off set information can we tell whether a 20" 305 or 315 will fit on the rear?

for example I know that 305/35/22 means 305 mm width the 35 is the width from edge of the rim to edge of the tire and the 22 is the rim size

but what does this mean :
Bolt Pattern: 5x120
Offset Range: 35 to 45
The 35 is actually a percentage of tire width. Total tire diameter would equal 22 + 2*(.35*305)

That is what I want to know. If a 305 or a 315 tire will fit. The ZO6 comes with 19" wheels that are 325 wide and I was wishing that the 325 or maybe 315 would fit. Anyone that has there car or anyone that knows for sure, please inform us.

Ok, I'll try to explain how the tire/wheel fitment thingy works. I'm no expert but I did sleep in a Holiday in Express last night.

The Camaro SS comes with 245/45/20's on the front and 275/40/20's on the rear for tires. Wheel sizes are 20X8 in the front and 20X9 in the rear. Overall diameter is 28.67 inchs.

When changing tire/wheel sizes you want to try to stay as close to the same overall diameter as stock. A 315/35/20 is 28.68 inchs in diameter so the diameter is good. The problem is that large of a tire is going to require a 10.5 inch wheel which will not fit on the car.

A good size combo would be a 245/35/20 on the front with a 20X8 wheel and a 295/30/20 on the rear with a 20X10 wheel. Overall diameter is 26.75 for the front and 26.96 for the rear.

i got the 1ss/rs and i think 20's are a little to big for me

Like I said I'm no expert but you should be able to run a staggered set up as long as the wheels will clear the Brembo's. Just make sure the overall diameter is the same for both the front and rear. The key thing is will the 18's clear the brakes.

The 18's will not clear the 14" brake rotors and the caliper on the SS. These rotors are a bigger than what you find on a STI. The rotors on an STI are 12" rotors.

i dont think this is true

they fit 305's on the ls7 concept and the rim on it had to be 10.5 atleast. Plus if that fails you always have the ol' BFH mod (Big F'n Hammer)
