Actually mine was made in late 2010 but they call it a 2011. Some of the other members have the pre drilled strut towers. Personally I don't like the oem bar.

I like the oem strut bar. At least I can get my engine cover off and on...

(Makes it easier to add performance decals)...IMO

I put the stock one on my 12 and it was a drastic improfment, plus you cant beat the ease of instalation and not having to drill holes into your car. The oem works as good or better than any afremarket being it weighs nothing and has tons of R&D into it. Oh and its cheap!

I had to chase down my own fasteners, though at the hardware store...

...at the time the parts counter at the dealer couldn't tell me what they were...(All metric, of course)

The stock bar can be made to look really nice...just a little elbow grease, 60 sheets of various sandpapers...and boom:

That looks very nice...and just a word of caution to anyone who buys one from the dealer...they treat 'em pretty rough, they're not in a box, so take a look and make sure there are no deep gouges or scars...

Yeah but looks chrome in the pic. I would hate to polish that out from the silver it comes in. Chrome spray paint for the win

If it could be separated, maybe I'd chrome the cross-bar, but its welded to the castings on the end...those would need to be smoothed out even for the chrome to look good...the pictured ones are partially sanded and polished in that one area...That guy put a ton of labor into those...looks good though..
