I don't trade. I get loan term loans then just double pay and pay off early. I do it so if anything happens I have a lower payment and can still handle everything very comfortably.
I just popped it in a loan calculator at 72 months and that's what it came out to. It's hard to argue with an amortization schedule. Guess the dealership could explain to you better how they're coming up with that payment (i.e. money down or terms). Most car salesman are really good at throwing out numbers to get you hooked when they barely have a high school diploma.

I fully agree with the long term loans and paying extra. I do the same, so I'm not knocking you. I think it's ridiculous to pay more than you can afford a month or to pay cash for a car when you could make more than the interest rate you would pay. I see too many threads on this forum where people are trading up after purchasing a car 6 months prior and putting themselves in a hole they will never get out of.

Get the 1LE and be done with it I say though. If it's a question in your mind then you will probably regret doing it later down the road if you don't. Post pictures of what you decide on either way!

The 1LE package is $3500 retail, and since you always negotiate down it will be less than that when it is all said and done. If you mod "up" to a 1LE it would be way more expensive. The wheels and tires alone are more than $3500, sway bars and strut brace with install is around $700, and if you want to do the mono tube shocks then it would be upwards of $1000. Plus you have to get new gears, you don't get the flat bottom steering wheel, you don't have red brake calipers, you don't get the matte black hood, and that's not even to mention the $700 splitter or the oil separator.

If I were to buy a SS it would have to be a 1LE because the value is tremendous, and I would end up blowing the money anyway.

I Just got my 2SS/1LE and I Love my car. If i were to list my option in the order i like them or want them most and why it would be.

1. NPP (dual mode exhaust) The sound is just perfect (IMO)
2. 1LE The wheels alone are worth it to me by time i swap for same or replica and get new tires. i like the look of the wider tire (will replace rear with 305 or 315 when needs be replaced) on the rear. and I would want the splitter on the front another add. I like the flat bottomed steering wheel and the suede.
3. 2SS I love the HUD, and leather seats.
4. RS I do like the halo lights and the led rears but hate the chrome strip, and could live with out this package easily.
5. NAV Dont need i have I phone that can do the same thing. it is convenient built in but not worth the money. Also i am like a human map book only need to be some where once and i can get there 30 years later with out any directions.
6. Sunroof Complete waste for me I will never open it. very expensive for a little hole in the roof.

So in closing NPP deal Breaker for me, 1LE close to the same because i think it would be pain in the @$$ to make the changes i want (black wheels, splitter) and hope it looks as good as I think it will when I know how 1LE looks. 2SS I could live with out but I can Afford it so I got it.The rest I didn't care if it had it or not.

On paper that sounds great, but I don't know of ANYONE that has shown any proof that they've actually done this. So, while it's a noble proposition, it just sounds more like those idiots trying to sell you term insurance saying you can "invest the difference" and help pay the premium. In the real world...nah, ain't gonna happen.

Pay cash whenever possible. Because paying ANY interest is eating into that "huge profit" you're making on your other investments (tongue in cheek).

I would not have bought a Camaro if not for the 1LE package. To answer a previous question, the 1LE is closer to the ZL1 than the SS is to the 1LE when talking about track times. A 1LE is NO ZL1 or even close, but its a world above the SS. I would sorely regret not getting a 1LE if I were a 2013+ SS owner, but thats my opinion and different strokes for different folks.

I regreted not getting a zl1 when I got my 2ss, so a year later I ended up trading it in, get what you want the first time because its a hell of a lot cheaper then trading a new car early because you miss what you didn't get
and your cost of the replica zl1 wheels will be approx $1000 and thats if you dont get new tires, which would mean you still have the narrower pirellis, and none of the other 1le upgrades, nor are your wheels forged like the ones that come on the 1le but you still paid 1/4 the cost of the package

to finance 38,500 for 500-535 a month you would need to finance at 0% interest for 72 months or 3-4% for 84 months

I've been down this road before. Rewind to 1965.

Back in the day, the big three would introduce a bigger engine with more horsepower every year, right up until the early 70s when the party abruptly ended. Guys would be in and out of dealerships like turnstiles at the carnival. Lots had plenty of cars that were top dog just a mere year back.

You're never going to keep up with the auto manufacturers and the new features. In 2011, the LS3 motor offered the highest HP you could get in the SS. Today, you can get the 1LE, ZL1 or the Z/28. The new models make my 11 SS look like the bottom of the barrel.

If you get a 1LE today, what happens when the theoretical 2LE comes out with an LS9? Will you suddenly become less interested in your 1LE? Ask yourself that question. The rest should fall into place.

To be on topic I somewhat regret not getting a newer model with 1LE package, but I did not buy new and I found an 11 2SS with pretty much every available option aside from dealer add ons like the body kit and the 21" rims. I think 1LE guys might be thinking the same thing about a ZL1

Get the 1LE...this way you wont have to shell out cash on wheels, etc. You will have it all in one package and less weight (vs reproductions, etc).

Had the 1LE been available when I bought my car, then yes it would've been ordered that way. Everyday I have to talk myself out of ordering a 2014 Summit White, Bright Yellow, Red Hot or Ashen Gray 2SS/RS 1LE with Recaros & NPP. Honestly it's making me nuts.

I'll just have the dealer keep the stock wheels and swap them. Won't be any out of pocket from my experience doing this before. I might go with the grey just to keep price down etc and I love that color. Plus I'll be driving it daily and already have a play toy car. Ill drive both on thurs after my delivery and see which I really have to have lol. I'm a impluse buyer. If I love it. I buy it.
