My friend has a '12 2SS with the factory Short throw which as stated has about 25% reduction.

I promise you, you CAN get a 1LE without it.

That's seriously to bad. You paid the standard $3500 for the 1le package and got ripped for the short throw shifter? I'd take it back and tell them that they forgot something.

Love the Hurst STS. I got the upgraded bushings as well! It is a great product!

Haha.. it's all good.. I get to do the mod and I end up with what I want instead of settling for the factory 25%, which I would have done had mine been equipped with it.
I'm not really out anything though, the Short Throw has to be added in as an additional option.

Needless to say, the closeout of the 2015 netted me a nice $13,000 discount off MSRP so I'm not hearbroken in the least!!

From Chevy's website....

Short throw is added separately from the 1LE package.

I freaking love this car... The thing that sucks the most is that we just got 18" of snow dumped on us yesterday.

Looks like I have some time on my hands to do a mod, but CAN'T DRIVE IT for at least a week!!!!

Mine does not show short throw shifter as an option but if you shifted my 2014 as and my 2015 1LE I swear to you the throw is much shorter. The Chevy website is not the end all be all as there are some glitches and problems with it when trying to add or delete options....try adding dealer installed zl1 front brakes or even the short throw shifter with 1LE option selected for example, either selection will require that you remove the 1LE option... I'm positive you have a short throw but if your changing to a Hurst aftermarket who really cares right? Lol

Exactly... It'll all work out. Making mods to your car is really rewarding.

Wrong-o. I assure you that you have the ZL1/1LE shifter if you have the factory equipped 1LE performance package. It is not listed on my window sticker, either.

Just be happy you're wrong.

P.S. I still upgraded to the MGW. Just sayin'

If a man speaks in the forest and there's not a female there to hear it, is he still wrong?

(answer: yes)

I'll do a before and after vid of the length of throw. Would like to see a comparison against the MGW as well. They advertise 30% right??

I'm planning on doing the install today, as soon as I wade through the list of to-do's piled on me by the two evil blondes. (wife and daughter)

Also how difficult is the Hurst short throw install for a noob?

I'm doing it tomorrow, my dad is going to help of course, and I have the instructions in hand. I'm handy but this the first time ever installing something like this.

There are many really good videos on this install. It's very easy. If you can use a screwdriver you can do this swap.

I just watched a video on it and now that I've seen the process it does look mega easy aslong as you can get the car off the ground

The higher the better and for safety's sake, please be extra paranoid about getting that car securely propped up.
The worst part is getting the rubber boot back on over the linkage. If you can get two arms up there, you've got it made. The first time I did this, I could only get one arm in there and It was absolutely maddening...
